  1. High roller is neat, even better at night. Valley of Fire is great. Hoover Dam. Fremont street is fun, especially later at night when the odd balls come out.
  2. Much as I hate to I am thinking this will be the year I sell my venture. I hate giving up that V4 but age is catching up with me and I am finding it a bit of a handful in the parking lot. I almost dropped twice last year. I am thinking smaller and lower center of gravity. I am thinking of two bikes. A. Yamaha V Star 1300 Delux SE or B. Honda VTX 1800 There are used ones nearby but I have not yet gone to look. Does anyone have experience with these bikes? Any advice?
  3. As a deckhand I have seen both sides. In our company if a man and a woman were equal in qualifications the woman always got the job. Avoid grievances and lawsuits that way. I have worked with some women who were great, better than some of the men. I have also had women who demanded they get the job refuse to do it. On a rainy, windy day..."I'm not standing anchors, it will muss up my hair." During tie up.... "who, little me pick up those chains...no way." etc. I am all for equal pay but be prepared to do the work.
  4. Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional.
  5. I forgot about the BB gun wars, and the rock fights, apple fights etc. Then the stolen strawberries, apples, plums etc always taste best.
  6. Building a dirt slide down the bank so I could ride my sled down the bank and over the logs and into the rocks. Climbing the trees and jumping from one to the other. Stealing smokes and whiskey. Building a raft and taking it far out in the water and having it come apart in the waves then paddling home on one log. The neighbours would raise the alarm but mom handled it pretty well ( she was used to me by then). Her reply was that she was not worried about me drowning since I was born to hang. Building nail guns, ball bearing guns and pipe bombs. Getting the strap ( an old razor strop) on each hand every Friday afternoon. Sometimes I earned it, sometimes it was because I might earn it. Getting kicked out of class and barred from returning. Etc,etc, etc

    Bone Spurs

I can't see you needing a knee replacement for bone spurs. Arthroscopy should do it. I have had both. Arthroscopy is a day surgery, in and out, knee replacement is major surgery and lays you up for a long time. A hip replacement is a piece of cake in comparison.
  8. Yesterday....sitting on the deck in shirt sleeves enjoying the sun. Today........looking out at 4 inches of snow and still snowing.

    Weather

We usually go someplace warm in February but only for two weeks. The boss says it is too expensive to go for a longer stay. Now she is talking a month in Bucerias.

    Weather

Enough is enough!!!!!! They are predicting more snow this weekend. One good thing about it is that the boss has suggested we go to Mexico for a month next winter. I am all for it.

    Weather

Snow!!!!! Cold and cloudy this morning then we got about 2 inches in the space of an hour. Now we are back in sunshine and the snow is almost gone. Can't ever remember it snowing this late in the year either.

    Weather

Could be worse. Squaw Valley got 47 feet of snow, including 7 feet in one week.

    Weather

Yesterday I was sitting on the deck in shirtsleeves, basking in the sun, reading a book and sipping a brandy. Today I am sipping a coffee and looking out the window at the snow on the deck. Through the falling snow I can see the ridge across the lake. It is about 1/2 mile away and is in full sunshine. I hear thunder over towards Vancouver, they are probably getting rain. An hour later the snow is melting fast but now we have hail. Supposed to be sunny and warm again tomorrow. Welcome to weather in B.C.
  15. Feb 19.....happy birthday skid.....happy birthday to the warden.............and happy birthday to me.

I know the AV's also scan pictures but while they are excellent none are 100% guaranteed. According to google this seems to be some type of Trojan. There is always something new coming along.

I have Avast and Malware.I think this thing hides in pictures and is one that can reinstall itself. The interesting thing is that there are some applications dealing with this thing but I do not know which to trust.I do not have a phone or any other device and do not know much about computers.

What makes me think this is a virus rather than a software or computer problem is that it first appeared on my old computer a few years ago. I forget what brand it was but it had windows 7. I discovered it when the computer ran out of space and I found multiple copies of all pictures on it. I would delete them but they slowly came back. When I transferred the pics to this new computer it was ok for a year then the duplication started again. This is a different computer with a different system. I just did a search on line and found this is a virus, now all I have to do is figure out how to get rid of it. There are downloads that say they will get rid of it but when I go on them it does not say where it comes from which makes me a bit leery of downloading them. Thanks for all the help.

The computer is Lenovo and it came with Lenovo photomaster pre installed. All photos automatically go to photomaster. This problem also existed on my previous computer so I think when the pictures were transferred so was a virus. I go back through the photos and find anywhere from 1-6 duplicates. Now some photos are being overlaid on top of others and I can't separate them. It is a nuisance to keep going back and deleting all the duplicates.

It is the pics on the computer. I don't now what it was on my old computer but I had the same problem. They are now on Lenovo which came installed on this computer.

There is a vast wealth of information here and I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. For some time now have been finding that when I go back to look at pictures I find 2-6 copies of the same photo and have to start deleting them. I am also now finding photos stacked on top of each other. Every anti virus, anti malware and cleaning system I have run says the computer is clean ( obviously it is not). I have had two experts check it out and they can't find anything. Has anyone else run across this?
  22. I have seen this one before. I never get anything delivered so I just deleted.
  23. This is getting serious. We now have about 15 inches on the deck and more coming. Even 1 inch of snow usually brings Victoria and Vancouver to their knees, wailing and crying to the weather gods to leave them alone. If virgins were not such a scarce commodity around here one might of been sacrificed. Even the sheep are looking nervous. The idiots are out on the roads proving they have no idea how to drive, and it is even worse when there is snow. All joking aside this is really getting serious. Out of brandy and beer, subsisting on wine. Have to go out and buck up three trees that have come down across the driveway. Got to get out and load up on vital supplies, whiskey and beer.

    FYI

Good advice. Usually I just delete those things but now I will label them spam.
