Hugs and kisses from Jonas, Greta and the boys
-
That is one nice bike Kurt. I´ll make sure to find and purchase your book to Ride safe, Jonas
-
Sorry Craig. That kind of food can not be found in Iceland ! But we do have some sheepball pies and all kinds of yummie things Don´t worry - you´ll get used to it
-
"With a little help from my friends" my friend. Thanks so much for your part in the process. You are the most awesome shipper ever I will make this up to you when you come to Iceland in June for sure
-
Well to tell you the truth these are the original Tan Corbin seats that came with the bike when it was shipped her to Iceland. Had my "Leather Man" dye them black. Did an excellent job and they look like brand new.

Different economics ! If I buy a Venture in the States for 6.000 US$ and import to Iceland then the total cost with import fees, VAT and so forth will be just around 12.500 US$. Therefore motorcycles are very expensive in Iceland.
-
Millie decided to leave me today and with unpleasant butterflies hurling around in my stomach I decided to let her go. Bought from the insurance company for 6.100.- US$. Invested in paint, parts, fluids and so forth: 2.845.-US$ Total cost: 8.945.-US$ Sold for: 15.700.- US$ Have to say that even this was a lot of work it was worth every minute spent and also learned a lot doing this. Having my eye on a Midnight Venture - If bought then YES, that one will get the same "CANDY APPLE RED" color but have to make some different accents so that there are not two identical Ventures floating around. Gonna see what the BOSS says tonight
-
Thank you mr. Wheeler. You have excellent taste
-
That´s it !!!!!!!!!!! Taters is getting a PM with pictures of Puppies. They are very expensive here in iceland Tom. And on top of that you have to pay airfreight, custom fees and all kinds of fees,,,,,,,,,Am afriad your our savings account is going to have a sad ending

Fairing question
StarFan replied to hillbilly705's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If I were you I would send a PM to Skydoc_17 and ask him. He is very knowledgeable about these bikes to say the least. Personally I think he must have had something to do with the design in the old days but I have not gotten that verified Jonas -
THOMAS ! I am not going to repeat the exact words Freebird said to you on the phone after the BIG BANANA HOAX But,,,, Ship me all the keys for Maximus or - BEHAVE - ! If not I am going to send Taters pictures of Icelandic Sheep Dog Puppies every week !! You do know what the result would be don´t you ????
-
Dang Guess that´s what is called trial and error. Well - live and learn is the saying Still I really don´t think this color suits you Don. To flashy for you. The Red Baron needs a younger rider :stirthepot::stirthepot: you old Pelican you
-
Thanks Craig. Keep them both,,,,It is a thought but the pressure is on. Kind of stupid to have four bikes in two different countries and only be able to ride about 3000 miles a year total Selling both bikes in Iceland and keeping Maximus in the states and shipping the Red Baron to Iceland. Looking forward to have you guys over in July !! Jonas
-
Yes, I had it coming,,,Only two woman I fear in my life - Taters and my Mother in Law ! Learned pretty fast that it was best to do as Mother In Law says ! Am getting the same feeling with Taters but am a slower learner in my older age. Love e´m both to pieces :bighug:

Well,,,, Finally got Millie my 2000 Venture Millienium bike finished. New paint job and lots of chrome. Not sure you guys will like this but turned out pretty good in my eyes. Work done: Changed all fluids - Brake, Clutch, Final drive, Coolant, Engine oil, fuel filter, Oil filter and Airfilters. Greased the splines and drive shaft. Repacked swingarm. New plugs. Raised the front to original setting (it was lowered 1 1/2 inches front and raised in back with levelling links). New brakepads back. Shimmed the needles in the carbs and synchronized them. Had her painted in the Millienium color Yamaha forgot (The new Ford color - Candy Apple Red) The photos do not show the color to well - It has a lot of Pearl (Mettalic) effect in it that really does it for this color. Added all the chrome I had laying around. Could not have pulled this through without the help of Craig Englehart "Cecdoo" the world famous international shipper. He is such an amazing shipper that he is even shipping himself and Kim over to Iceland this summer for two weeks Hope Taters will forgive me as time goes by for changing the color of a Millienium http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Yamaha%20Venture%20Millenium%202000/bth_1_zpsc15c9821.jpg?t=1369507141 http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Yamaha%20Venture%20Millenium%202000/bth_SAM_0900_zpsfcf956c5.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Yamaha%20Venture%20Millenium%202000/bth_8_zps337a247f.jpg?t=1369506952 http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Yamaha%20Venture%20Millenium%202000/bth_6_zpscd30ac25.jpg?t=1369506947 http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Yamaha%20Venture%20Millenium%202000/bth_3_zps4f71840d.jpg?t=1369506940 http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/jonaslill/Yamaha%20Venture%20Millenium%202000/bth_11_zps39b89a99.jpg?t=1369506959

Greetings. Was wondering if anybody can show me how to make pictures come up big when posting. I know how to post pictures as small icons that you click on but once in a while I see someone post a thread with big pictures showing. Sooooo,,,,Whats the secret ? Friendly regards from Iceland, Jonas / StarFan

Sooooo,,,,Rick ! Where is that Big Old Red Venture ! For some reason I really like that color Correction: By first look at your Avatar it looked like a Red 2000 Venture so I thought that was your old bike ! My mistake !
-
I gotta say it my friend - Taters is a true hero !
-
With the accessories you have it is a Royal Star Tour Classic 1996 or 1997

High up on the right side where the fork goes through the frame (in front of the gas tank right side) there should be a sticker with the serial numer. There is another one on the right side kind of just above the radiator on the frame. There you should see month and year like 02/97 or something like that. At least that is how it is on my 1998 Tour Classic. The serial number will actually tell you what year it is. The tenth character in the VIN number will do that: 1995(S), 1996(T), 1997(V), 1998(W), Soooo,,,,If your bike is a 1997 the tenth character is V For 1996 it is T
