Some of you may already have received this email, but for those who haven't, I received this this morning. PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENT Hello Jack, Chick from Rivco Products. We are up to a count of 30 interested bikers for the RSV001 Rivco royal star centerstand to go into production. This is a tentative count before we require a $100 deposit. Please respond to me with your definite answer of yes or no about your interest of getting your centerstand. Once I receive 20 definite YES responses I will then contact you for credit card information for the deposit. When all deposits of 20 plus committed bikers has been collected we will start our production, a quick response is much appreciated. Thank you very much, Chick cstrockis@rivcoproducts.com The total is going to be $400 ea. for the special run of 20. I know they're pricy, but it's a heck of a stand. I already have one on the '99RSV, and looking forward to adding one to Seven. If you aren't on the list and would like to be, give them a call. The more the merrier!!

Wish I'd have had that info when my pump went down. Saw the original post about 2 weeks after I bought the new one..... Next time...

Thanks for all the kind thoughts guys, but no, I'm not mad... just disappointed. Like all the group buys I've put together over the years, I did it for the members, and make very little, if anything doing it. A couple of times I would have lost money if it hadn't been for a couple of hero members making a 'donation'... Personally, I don't give a damn about this website, but I do care a lot for it's members and their common love of Venture MC, and that's why I do what I do. One more thing. I don't produce a thing.... All the group buys were put together with a supplier. I ain't that talented...

Why am I having trouble viewing posted pics in the popup viewer?? Been having this trouble where the screen is black and the little ball circle just rotates, and the pic doesn't down load. I can open them in another tab in a nanosecond. It did this with the old computer, and now with the new one....

Test for leakage

Unless it's an obvious tear, hold the diaphragm up to the light to find any pins holes.... -
Spark plug R&R
Condor replied to dna9656's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
As above... plus you can also use one of the flat 14mm wrenches that come with the OEM tool kit if available. Generally the plug loosens in a 1/4 turn. Remove the spark plug socket and slip a 12"x5/16" fuel line over the tip of the plug and unscrew it the rest of the way. Use the plug socket to start the spark plug back in and then use the hose to thread it in the rest of the way. Snug the plug down with the socket/wrench again. Be very careful when starting the new plug and make sure it goes in easily. You don't want to cross thread anything. It's about the only finesse part about changing the plugs.... -
I might work, but it's pretty tight in there next to the receiver. I'd hate to miss.
-
So I bought my new2me Nissan Titan and the previous owner (bankruptcy) failed to supply me with a key to unlock the receiver hitch pin. It's a standard key lock. Has anyone ever drilled one of these things out before?? And how did that go for ya ??? I could take it over the to the local muffler shop and have it burned off, but the area is kinda tight and I didn't want take the chance of screwing up the paint... Any other suggestions??

Oh?? A Conundrum. I thought you were talking about something else....

There's still a ton of 2ndGens out there without the Wagner Grills, so I don't think the market will be depleted anytime soon.. I bet someone could buy the rights and start a nice little side line business. I'd do it, but I'm just getting too .././..

somewhat In a Numb Stage
Condor replied to Brake Pad's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
I'm surprised they even put her in that situation. A year ago my wife died of exactly the same thing. Two spots on her liver, and it is well known in the medical industry that liver cancer most often missed when looking at other symptoms. It's also very quick and nothing can be done outside of a complete liver transplant in the very early stages. Operating when two spots were found is almost criminal. Nadine passed almost 1 month to the day after diagnosis. We had a wonderful hospice group handle all the needs we encountered, and kept her comfortable right to the end. My heart goes out to you and your family, and prayers are made on your behalf. -
Everyone has an opinion Don, but I think you've missed point in expressing yours. It's called member support. I don't need a lesson in marketing and merchandising, I've been down that road many times in the last 50 years. But like I've said before and I'll say it again... It's your board....
-
So I log onto the board this morning and what pops up in the ad banner??... an ad linking to the Super Brace website. And out of the kindness of their heart giving all the 1st Gen members 15% off the price of one of their braces at $143.95. That works out to around $122 bucks. Wow!! Such a deal!! What gets me a little ticked off is I've been having fork braces made for the supporting members of this site for $67.00 and that includes shipping for about 4-5 years now, and at that price barely covering my time and the money laid out up front. Why? For the good of this board and it's supporting members. I also did this with MAC mufflers and Odyssey battery's when that's all there was available....Again, laying out a bunch, and not making a penny. So where's the support?? I guess it really doesn't matter any more..... It's just very disappointing. I wonder what the future holds for this place??

That'll give you a headache.... Let the GPS figure out the cross track error. Easier, and it comes with beer....

COOL!!!!!!!!!! Where we going??? Sorry we bug ya, but drifting is a common event on this board..... If we didn't drift the posts would drift off into the sunset. Besides drifting is good for the soul.....

Just for the heck of it I did the cc math on a V6-Max motor based on the V-Max 1700/V4 and it works out to a whopping 2550cc's..... Talk about bottom end grunt!! ...?? Wonder what that would do to the fuel mileage??

I'm not sure what the problem is about using the secure hidden email feature on Craigslist, and don't put your phone number in the ad. Just request that they respond with their telephone number, and they'll never see your actual email address unless you reply back to their response.... You're in the drivers seat... call them back. It's pretty easy to weed out the jerks. If they're willing to send you their info, it generally means they're serious.... That's what I'll do if I'm interested. Never had a problem yet.

Pick one.....

I bought my '99RSV off Craigslist for $4100 with 47K on the odo, and it had a ton of bling.... I needed a camper shell for my new2me Nissan Titan, and picked up a Snug Top Saturday afternoon in mint condition for $875. I was looking at laying out $2200 plus tax for a new one.. I've also sold a few things...mostly fishing equipment.... So I'm happy with what I've experienced. I've found that if it's priced right, it'll sell.... I generally put Cash'n'Carry in the ad and they have to email me for more info. I usually delete the responses that arrive in the first couple of hours from somebody that sez he'll take it and send him my info... They're scammers.
-
A 100 years ago they would have shot them or strung them up from a tree.....
-
I still think a cruiser with a V6Fi based on the new V-Max engine would knock the competition's socks off..... If BMW can shoehorn an in-line 6 into their LT's, can you imagine what a narrower V6 would be like.... Y did make a triple, so 3 wide is nothing new to them and would sit better than those pancake 1800cc motors that you have to work around the heads hanging out in the wind....
-
My SIL aka 'the family hacker' tried 8 when it first came out and got rid of it. I'll take his word for it.... Just up graded to 7. It's got it's quirks, but can live with it....
-
That is one cool looking seat for $225.
-
I checked with Corbin a while back when looking at one that had seen better days, and they charge $300 to completely rebuild one of their seats. The cost of shipping leaves a lot of room to end up with a like new one.....

Interesting in a morbid kinda way......
