Riding in 105 degree temps and 80 mph with a load sure took its toll on the tread. Bike looks loaded and it is but way under 200 lbs total weight so I don’t think that was the main issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey Cowpuc, thanks for the nomination! Been averaging 38 mpg running 80 on the superslab and 15-45 and heavy throttle pulling out of the switchbacks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

5100 miles into the six week trip from da UP brings us to Crescent City CA. Rode through Avenue of the Giants today, awesome ride. No rain in 3 weeks of riding and rear tire about 50% left. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They work well, and can get downright HOT if desired. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not dubious, it’s the Yamalube Advantage Program. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think if you use Yamalube and document your scheduled maintenance, Yamalube will warrant 100k miles on the engine if you sign up for the program. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lower wind deflectors
Yoopermoose replied to DanielM's topic in Star Venture and Eluder Tech Talk ( '18 - Present)
2000 miles into our 6 week road trip with the majority of time in the 90’s. The lower wings are essential IMHO. I’m 5’10” and 31 “inseam, hiway pegs for me on the crash bars wouldn’t work but I wish I had installed the pegs that mount on the floorboards just for a little more flex. We had very high gusty winds coming into Moab, my buddy on his Streetglide was almost blown off the road twice. The SVTC handled the wind much better. Great bike. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Might be a little tricky backing into the boat landings when pulling with the bike. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

SiriusXM trial

Or the “Air quality alert” How does it know when I pass gas? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I know, but my bike was manufactured in August last year, I think the engineers could have an answer by now. Prodding does not hurt. I have found the connector for the camera on the schematics and wiring diagrams but I don’t know if software will be needed to be modified. I did let them know in my survey that a stated feature should be installed or at the very least available. When you had your gas tank replaced did they show you the connector or was it still inaccessible? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

SiriusXM trial
Yoopermoose replied to Yoopermoose's topic in Star Venture and Eluder Tech Talk ( '18 - Present)
Thing is they did advertise the 3 month trial on one of the earliest promotions but pulled it down on all subsequent ones. Unfortunately I did not take a screen shot. I agree the life subscriptions were the way to go, 3 separate subscriptions for 3 different vehicles are a bite. I really like the weather radar so will bite the bullet for my upcoming out west trip. Success! I have an IPhone SE running 11.3. I have my do not disturb set to manual, but what I didn’t see was once the phone was paired, I had to reclick on that Bluetooth connection and another show notification check box appeared. The Comm menu would not let me choose SMS until I had an incoming text but then everything worked as advertised. The bike info choice in the Comm menu is inaccessible but I’m going to try to trigger a bike message to make sure that works the same. Thanks for everyone’s help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The iPhone Bluetooth works fine for everything else, just not the texts. And the bike info texts not working is not phone related. Pretty sure this is a bike software problem, we’ll see what Yamaha comes back with. I could see where it might be a safety issue and there would be an alert but couldn’t read the message unless pulled over on accessory but that isn’t the case. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

On my comm menu, the SMS and the Bike message choices are greyed out. I have an IPhone SE (fits in the compartment!) and can’t get texts either. My main concern though is the bike status texts. I have a call into support, they said they will get back in a couple days. I also inquired for an update on the backup camera Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I had thought that the SVTC came with a Sirius 3 month trial that was activated when called in to Sirius with the radio ID. I activated it this weekend but was told by a Sirius rep that they didn’t show a promotion and I should check with my dealer. I did, they checked with Yamaha and said that there never was a 3 month trial but they have had other dealerships have owners come in with the same request. I’ve checked all my documentation and can’t find anything so I have to assume that I’m having a wishful thinking senior moment but thought I’d mention it here to see if anyone recalls the 3 month trial on early promotions. I really like the weather and traffic updates on the infotainment screen especially the radar view.
