  1. I’ve always listened to the voices in my head more than the ones on my shoulders and they’ve always said to replace the washers so that’s what I do! Again, thanks everyone for the opinions and information!!!
  2. Thanks everyone for the information. From what I can figure out (and please correct me if I'm wrong) it looks like the three crush washers are the same, not two for the crankcase and a different one for the oil tank. The part number is 214-11198-01-00. I've attached a couple of pics showing both sides of the washer.
  3. Hello all! When changing the oil on the SVTC I see that there is one oil tank drain bolt and two crankcase drain bolts. Each of the three drain bolts have a crush washer that goes with them. I'm one of those guys that actually replace the crush washers. Does anyone know the part numbers of those crush washers? I've been looking all over and just can't seem to find them. The scary thing is my dealer couldn't find them either! I'm a little worried about that needless to say... Thanks for any information on this! -Doug
  4. I just did the update and everything went just fine. Took about 20 minutes. I was at R11.something and it now shows R12.0.6. I looked for a change log to see what was updated over the different versions but couldn’t find anything like that. This latest update mentioned something about IOS compatibility but no details. It would be nice to know what exactly they addressed!
  5. I bought mine 3/2018. It has a build date of 11/17 and a sequence number of 1111.
  6. Thanks for the info! Looks like my sequence number is 1111.
  7. I was just wondering if anyone knew how many of these bikes were produced (2018 production run)? From what I understand the last digits of the VIN number is a sequence number so I’m curious as to where mine fits in. Also, is there a different sequence run for the Trans Continental version and the non Trans Continental version? Thanks for any info... -Doug
  8. I forgot to mention another thing. After you wash down the bike but before you put the sealant on I always like to do what's called an IPA Wipedown (though it's certainly not required.) IPA is Isopropyl Alcohol and you can get it in different strengths from your grocery or drug store. The strength really doesn't matter so much but you want to dilute it 50/50 with water (distilled if you got it.) Put the mixture in a spray bottle then mist down a small section on the bike and wipe it off with a soft microfiber cloth (you can always spray the cloth and then wipe the panel also.) Repeat until you've done all of the painted surfaces. This removes any oils, residue, and previous waxes and sealants so your new sealant has a super clean surface to bond to and it will last longer. 9. You should probably put on the sealer first and then the wax. Sealer lasts longer than wax. Let the wax protect the sealer (which is protecting the clear coat which is protecting the paint) and be the sacrificial layer which you can reapply every few weeks or so...
  10. I had a heck of a time getting the Yamaha Toolbox software to recognize my USB drive also. It took me at least a half a dozen times of formatting, getting the thumbprint from the bike, try the software, formatting, getting the thumbprint from the bike, try the software, formatting, etc. before it finally worked. Very frustrating...
  11. On my Goldwing I installed a "Windbender" shield. It's actually a two piece setup and to me was the best thing I ever did to that bike. If they made one for the SVTC I'd get it in a heartbeat...
  12. Looks good. I’ve had Utopia backrests on a couple of other bikes and was very pleased with them. It doesn’t look like it will work with the Yamaha 8” backrest so if I get one of these i’ll need to go back to the stock backrest I guess...
  13. Interesting about the software version. I just went out and checked mine and I'm at R11.9.08.01. When I go into Yamaha Toolbox it says that there are no updates. Is this something that the dealer needs to do???
  14. I look forward to hearing what they have to say!
