  1. Wow! So many recommendations... I don't even know where to start! Thank you all so much! I really want to ride this TN-32. Gonna try and make that happen. I will play dumb to the couple riding with us.... 😉.
  2. So does 32 stay paved from I40 to US-321? Do you know?
  3. Thanks Cowpuc. I am gonna check that out. Right now, another day I have planned will go from Gatlinberg to Cherokee over to Maggie Valley where I want to go through the Wheels Through Time museum which I have heard is pretty cool. Then from there I figured we would go take Highway 276 up to I40 up to Wilson Springs and take 321 out of Wilson Springs back to Gatlinburg area. I did see on Map quest there is a road off I40 called My Sterling Road or 32. Doesn't anyone know anything about that road? Goes right through the mountains as it seems to me. May not be a good road. Looks like it would be scenic but.... Who knows. I am going to check out your suggestion now Cowpuc. Thanks again! Keep ideas comin folks. I only have 3 days in that part of Tennessee but it's 3 days none the less.
  4. Where is the closest starting point of the Blue Ridge Parkway to Gatlinburg? Right now we are going North out of Gatlinburg to Little Cove Road, connect to 321 to Foothills Parkway to Chillohowee and get on 129 West to 72, 411, and take 360 to Cherohala Skyway. Take that to Robbinsville, NC. Take 129 North to the Moonshiner 28 I hear so much about. Take Moonshiner 28 to 74. Take 74 to 19. Take 19 into Cherokee and 441 back up to Gatlinburg? Sound like that will work? Criticize me....do whatever. I have never ridden this far south. I have been married and divorced twice and its about time that I go on a vacation that means something with the woman I should have found 2 marriages ago! Any advice to make this trip memorable is so very much appreciated.
  5. I bought the Kuryakyn magnum mirrors and love them! Look great and are perfect in size for me. Convex style.
  6. Ok. I know I have asked and a few have commented but I will be heading to Eastern Tennessee next month. Our first day we will ride to Clarksville, TN. 2nd day we head to Pigeon Forge, where we have a cabin rented for 3 days. Since it is short ride from Clarksville, TN to Gatlinburg I was thinking about going South and taking Cherohala Skyway (143) from Tellico Plains to Cherokee, NC and take 441 up to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge From some of your recommendations, that looks like it will be a nice ride. The next day I was thinking of riding back down 441 into Maggie Valley and going to the Wheels Through Time museum which I have also heard quite a bit about. Then I was thinking of leaving Maggie Valley and riding interstate 40 up to Wilson Springs and back to Gatlinburg. Is I-40 nice or worth it? Now, with all this said we have to have time for our wives to "shop" in Gatlinberg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville sometime within these 3 days. I wouldn't mind walking around a few shops to see exactly what it is different about it all. Tail of the Dragon is not an option for us. Wives don't want to do it and honestly from all the people I have talked to about it... You don't get to spend much time looking at scenery anyway. What about heading from Gatlinberg to Nashville later on in our trip? Any suggestions to ride to from that direction? A little North? I have heard of the Devils Triangle and thought about trying that.
  7. Funny you say that... I am just about to order from him!
  8. Ok.. I got the Wolo bad boy horn. I got Larry's bracket and harness in hand. I also bought his trailer hitch receiver. I want to put a rack back there to give me more room for luggage. I know I need to add lights to it but what are some recommendations for lights to use? Since I am going to put lights on it, I want them to function fully as brake lights and taillights. I am thinking LED? Thoughts? Suggestions?
  9. I have reached out to Larry. I will wait and see what he has to say about the bracket and harness. Thanks!
  10. I want to get a Nautilus Stebel Horn. Are they pretty good? Will it mount on the right side in place if the stock horn? Any and all suggestions is appreciated of course.
  11. I went to Redwing last fall and spent the day on Lake Peppin. Very nice ride up and back.
  12. Ya know, I have not paid much attention honestly but that is a very valid point. I will check that when I get home this afternoon and post back. [emoji6]
  13. Ahhh... It's OK. I will deal with not having it. With this being a Midnight I would have thought it was there but again, it doesn't matter to me. The more light from the front... The better in my opinion.

  15. I was "cruising" the forum last night and found a post about "secrets" of the RSV. I noticed one about a clock so of course I checked it out. I do have it BUT when I pushed the 2 buttons together, they stuck. Probably a common problem but what can I do so they function smoothly? What can I spray to help that? I also saw a post about a little switch to shut off the daytime running lamps. Not a big interest for me but I thought I would look anyway and I don't see anything. Must have been for different years? Newer? I have a 2004 RSV Midnight.
  16. We are all riders... I was curious how many were from Iowa. We are all family!
  17. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Too funny!
  18. By the way, 11 is 8 more than I thought we had in Iowa!
  19. eusa1 tried to explain to me how to find that but this mobile app isn't the most user friendly and when you mix not user friendly with no patience... I just decided to ask.
  20. Yeah... I expected that from you Mike! Lol!
  21. Just curious how many members we have here from Iowa and surrounding states?
  22. Ha! Ha! Ha! Love it! [emoji12] What is so funny is he jokes with me that if I break down, he is going to wave as he rides by. I told him not to forget ALL the recalls his bike has been in for since he bought it. Master Cylinder failure and Saddle Bags just "falling" off because of CHEAP hardware. Seriously though, he is a good guy. He compliments me often about my bike, as does his wife.
  23. I am going to sit down with our friends this weekend and propose the thought of doing this once again... Honestly... His wife was more concerned about it then mine BUT she was freaking out while in the mountains of Colorado to. Not in a bad way... Just voiced her opinion about the drop offs and really sharp turns.
  24. I don't want to count it out just yet. I mapped it out and the route that was recommended on here from member JDaniel doesn't seem bad at all. 4 hrs round trip and from what I can see, it would be VERY scenic. I am going to mention to the couple we are going with. What you all mentioned makes a lot of sense that if your an idiot, and ride it dumb, you deserve what you get. I was told the best time to ride the Tail is morning hours before 11am. Does that sound about right to you folks? What about the Cherohala Skyway? I have heard that's really scenic and great for a motorcycle ride as well. Can anyone give me some suggestions on that?
  25. This is the reason our wives are not interested in doing it. They both were together and "YouTube'd" videos of Tail of the Dragon and of course those bad ones come up first. Again, if the wives are miserable, we are miserable so it makes the decision a little easier anyway....[emoji53] [emoji16]
