Are you talking about Diamond Jo casino boat? If so it's not a boat anymore. They built a big building and took it off the boat. They have the casino and the Dog Track casino. About 50 miles north there is still a casino "boat" in Marquette, Iowa. Sent from my SM-N900R4 using Tapatalk

Wow! You guys were not joking when you said the Dunlop E3 is a good tire! I had mine replaced this morning before leaving on a bigger ride North. Simply put, I cannot believe the difference in the handling of the bike. Night and day! Apparently my Avon was much worse than I thought! I was fighting a battle from the day of purchase I guess. I just figured it was the handling characteristics of a heavier, full dressed bike. Boy was I wrong! Thanks for all the advice guys. Really paid off! Sent from my SM-N900R4 using Tapatalk -
Where are some ideas to ride in Wisconsin? Somewhere within a few hours of Lansing, IA or Harpers Ferry, IA? I have already been North towards LaCrosse, WI, Wabasha, MN and Red Wing, MN. I was thinking somewhere North and East of Lansing? What is the scenery like at the Kickapoo River? Any nice roads to ride? Sent from my SM-N900R4 using Tapatalk

I was just at Pikes Peak 2 weeks ago. Always is nice to see! Spent a lot of my younger adult years partying in Prairie. Some good memories.. Some not so good! Lol! I just might stop at Breitbachs?! Sent from my SM-N900R4 using Tapatalk

Gonna take my wife through Balltown. Nothing big but a look out and Breitbachs! Sent from my SM-N900R4 using Tapatalk

Making a stop in Dubuque right now. Gonna go up 52 through Gutenberg and follow river road to McGregor and cross the river to Prairie Du Chein and ride on the Wisconsin side to Lansing and cross back and head south into the back side of Harpers Ferry where we will Park the bike for the night.. And have some drinks! Sent from my SM-N900R4 using Tapatalk

So my wife and I are starting our long holiday weekend early and we are on Highway 20 in Iowa, about 10 Mikes outside Dubuque and I approach a Semi trailer. I check my mirrors and see a Grand Prix coming up on my left. I keep my turn signal on and he (they) go by. I begin my merge over and the "stupid" driver in front of me now, the Grand Prix, decides that him and his buddies think it would be funny to "hit the shoulder" of the highway at 65mph and kick up dust and rocks behind us. At first I thought it was an accident but as I backed off about 6 car lengths, they decide to do it again and again. By now I am pissed! I drop it down a gear, and as I start getting up to them, sense comes back to me and I just back off and get back in the right lane...only for them to slow down! You have GOT to be kidding me! What little punks! Now I am livid! All while this is happening the semi we both passed is back on my tail again. He MUST have seen what was going on because he gets over in the passing lane to go around me.. Honked his "little" horn, gave me a thumbs up, and put it to the floor. The Grand Prix must have seen him in his mirror so he decides to get back in the passing lane, in front of the semi and the Semi gets back in the right lane. I am about 50 yes behind both of them now and just when I thought it was all over with, the Gonda Prix starts to slow down again BUT so does the semi truck. He gets beside the car and lays on the "BIG" horn and scares the Holy hell out of those little punks. They put it to the floor and I watched a big puff of smoke come out the back and they were gone! I caught back up to the truck, pulled beside him and he looked down at us and gave us the "ok" symbol, rolled down his window and yelled "ride safe"! What a super nice guy! [emoji106] To bad we have so many stupid people in this world! [emoji35] Sent from my SM-N900R4 using Tapatalk

FYI... I promise I use the search button all the time but it doesn't work the same on the mobile app as it does on a regular laptop or desktop. I don't own either of those. My phone is nearly as big as a tablet anyway.. Lol! Just don't want anyone thinking I don't use the search button. My phone is my work and my life so I use it for everything! Thanks for the links! I will check them out. Sent from my SM-N900R4 using Tapatalk -

How hard is it to lower the front of these bikes? What does it take to get it done? Just curious. Sent from my SM-N900R4 using Tapatalk -

Funny you say that. I had a Dunlop front tire on my Honda Sabre and it got noisy as it wore out as well! I would come to a curve in the road and it would make its sound most prevalent then! I sort of figured E3 was for the Dunlop Elite (Google E3 motorcycle tire!) but I was making sure. Thanks again! Sent from my SM-N900R4 using Tapatalk -

Gramps69, what size are you running on your Venture? I too really like Michelin tires but they don't offer a 150 series for the front of a second gen Venture. Are you running a 130? They do offer those. Sent from my SM-N900R4 using Tapatalk -

Thanks for the suggestions all. Our local bike shop, Harley Shop, is very surprised my bike has a 150/80 16 71H tire on the front. He said to me.. "holy crap that's a wide tire! I install that size on Harley's all the time but I put it on the rear"! Kinda caught me off guard and didn't know what to say about that! So what I am getting from what a few of you are saying is that a smaller 130 tire in the front handles better? I like the look of the wide tire in the front though. I can only assume it's wide for the "touring" side of life. Sent from my SM-N900R4 using Tapatalk -
Just curious what you are all using for a front tire on your 2nd Gen? I have priced many but as we all know, some are just not meant for touring bikes. I have heard a lot about Metezler having a really good touring tire for our bikes. Since the tire is so "wide" compared to what I have been use to buying, I thought I would get some advice before moving forward. I have a new Michelin rear tire but from what I can find, they don't make a front tire in the size I have on my bike. Any and all advice/suggestions /recommendations is appreciated. I recently bought a 2nd Gen RSV and wasn't really happy with the stereo sound. It seemed hard to hear and distorted really easy no matter what settings I had it on. Here is what I did and I am VERY happy with the sound! Nice crisp, clear and loud. I have always kind of thought of myself as a phone guy. I am constantly messing with my phone. I have a ton of apps and am always trying new ones. Anyway, since I had first got my Android Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (about 1 1/2 yrs ago) I downloaded an app called Poweramp. I was so impressed I even paid for it later on. I thought I would try playing my music through that app and my Aux cable and ADJUST the equalizer settings on the app. Wow what a difference!! No distortion and VERY clear sound! Poweramp has a built in Amp and equalizer. When I got the sound how I wanted set on my phone while playing through the speakers on my bike, I then adjusted my bike settings. What I did? I turned auto volume off completely and moved treble to +6 and bass to - 2. I use front and back speakers. Now, obviously your not going to get the bass from these little speakers as you would in a car but the sound I have is absolutely clear and crisp. 80mph with 25mph wind today, I had my phone set just over half on volume and my dial set to 25 on my bike and it was loud enough that I could hear it like sitting in a car. Give it a try. I am VERY happy with the sound I have on my bike now! [emoji6] Sent from my SM-N900R4 using Tapatalk

Trunk latch....
cwhite123174 replied to cwhite123174's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The top clip on my truck was missing a screw so when it was connecting to the latch it wasn't square when latching. I got another screw, and now it sits more square. I also popped the plastic clips off the cover of the latch mechanism and greased it up good. Mine latches much better now. Sent from my SM-N900R4 using Tapatalk -
Trunk latch....

Quick question. 2004 Yamaha Royal Star Venture Midnight. I noticed today that my trunk doesn't seem to shut square. It's not bad. My wife thinks I'm nuts for worrying about it but my question is if the latch itself that is inside the trunk on the bottom has an adjustment? I am afraid I will break the clips that hold the cover on so while I am asking, where can I find replacement ones if that should happen? Another question is (Pardon my ignorance) the front cowl pc that covers half the air filter on both sides, 1 of mine seems loose and just tightening it doesn't help. It's as tight as it will go. I know it has a hex bolt, rubber grommet and a collar and I have found the parts online but $25 for those 3 pcs seems a little high but it is what it is I suppose. Any suggestions? Thanks all. Crap! I was thinking I posted in my original thread. 2004 Midnight Royal Star Venture. 22,000 miles. Previous owner said he used Amsoil. I personally think the motor kinda whines, as you stated. Runs great though. Sent from my SM-N900R4 using Tapatalk

What are you guys using for oil in these V4 machines? I want to get mine all changed so I know it's been done. Is synthetic what is recommended? Regular weight oil? What kind of spark plugs? Pardon my asking but as stated before, I am new to the V4 side of things. Thanks all!
