  1. In a local bikers night I saw a 08 RSTD with this wind deflectors (see pictures) I"ve looked all over the internet and nothing. Does anyone seen these before or know where to find it??? Thanks
  2. Get rid of it! You don't need it. Run the line straight from the tank to carb and let gravity do the rest. I've done it on my RS and Road Stars. If you want put a filter in between and that's it. Make sure filter is in the right direction.
  3. I am about to turn to the Darkside and I was wonder if anyone can lead me to where and what size tire to get. I've tried a couple of tire online sites and they don't seen to have my 99 RSV rear tire size 150/90-15
  4. Haha! I thought so too... True, http://www.ebay.com...Another good one Thanks!
  5. Hey guys, having recently acquire a 01 RSTD I am in the look to cover it with a little more "shinny part", if you know what I mean. I have found a few places that have some selection for RS but I am sure there are more and better. I was wondering if we could all put together a list of the places we all know that you would recommend to make our bikes "CHROMALICIOUS" (lol that's my girlfriend's daughter term) So far I can list http://www.aliexpress.com http://www.westendmotorsports.com http://www.cruisercustomizing.com Thanks for your help!!!
  6. Makes sense @videoarizona...I will look around see if I can find a deal. BTW thank you for your services!!!
  7. Yes, I can see where the savings could be, but considering how often filters need to be change and the fact that, at least I don't drive on dusty roads, may be I will spend the money on some more chrome...Now if the K&N would improve performance in a significant way I would definitely consider it. Now in the same subject, I also have a 01 RS Tour Deluxe I just recently acquire. Does anyone here had any experience with these: http://www.westendmotorsports.com/baron-custom-stealth-royal-star-9601-p-32211.html
  8. Thanks @RedRider, you saved me a good few bucks... So I guess there is no good air system worth of our money for the Ventures uh?
  9. @RedRider...I was wondering about getting that breathing system. Is it worth the money? Does it make a difference. BTW I have my pilot screws at 2.5 turns and it runs perfect
  10. So has anyone used this? Is it worth the money? Is there anything better for 01 RSTD? http://www.westendmotorsports.com/ba...1-p-32211.html
  11. Hey EUSA1, I am definitely interested in seeing what you have. Do you have a list, or better of pictures?
  12. HAHAHA! Thanks for warning. I'll keep it in mind. Although, if they decide to give me twins I wouldn't mind to be a proud Grandpa!!!
  13. Well I admit it...I have fall in love with this bikes. Back in Dec I bought my first project bike: a 99 RS Venture with 92,000 mi It came with a rear valve cover oil leak, a gas leak and saddle bags which have been each drilled with three 6in speaker holes (very sad). Also, several cracked covers and no windshild. I did not come with the trunk nor the back seat. After pulling most of it apart, fixing the leaks, rebuilding the carbs and calipers and changing fluids and filters I was finally able to start it and hear it roar. And what a roar. I couldn't believe how well it runs and idles (after some of you advise me to set the pilot screws at 2.5 turns). Now the bike is ready to be transformed into something. I don't know yet what. I won't restore it to its original beauty because it would cost too much money. I think it will become something more like a bubber...we'll see. But wait that is not all... Two weeks ago I came a cross a Jewel, and I am sure those of you who like these bikes as much as I am now will agree. This is not only a jewel, but definitely destiny...I found a 2001 RS Tour Deluxe with only 6600mi and one owner. The bike looks like just came out of the dealer floor. Flawless!!! No Rust! No Scratches!!! Perfect shape...Love at first sight...I couldn't resist. I have to get it. Beauties like this in this conditions and low mileage do not come often...You blame me? And at only $3400 I am sure most of you would have not pass it. The bike is in stock conditions. No modifies, no additions, which give me plenty of room to personalize it and here is my reason for posting. Other than to brag and share my addiction...haha! I am sure you all understand. One thing the project bike has is the stock pipes to which it seems they cut the end tips off, leaving the baffles expose and producing an amazing deep and loud sound, which definitely gives it great character. I want to do that to my new one. Does anyone here seen it, done it, has experience with it? How is it done? Also, I was wondering if anyone has installed these and if it is worthy or is there a better air system you recommend: http://www.westendmotorsports.com/baron-custom-stealth-royal-star-9601-p-32211.html I will post pictures of the progress on the project bike as transformation occurs. Mean time here is how they look today. Project bike: And here is my jewel: Thanks for reading and help. Royal Starcoholic
  14. Hmmm never thought it would be stiff enough to go thru. I will add it to my tool box. By the way what is this jet? The one left of main jet. Can't find it anywhere. You know?
  15. well I guess after taking out and cleaning the carburetors 3 times you don't have any other options but becoming good at it. Haha!! Its funny you ask because I think I came up with a very simple an awesome tool for the job. I took one of the bristles from my large metal brush and unbended it from the middle to make it longer. It happens to fit the hole of the pilot jet just perfect and it is hard enough that you can push it through it and take out any obstruction. Highly recommended.
  16. DOOOOONNEEEE!!!! Thank you guys... I clean the pilot jets, which for some reason got plugged again and adjusted pilot screws to 2.5 turns. It started right away and keep idle purring like a tiger... Million thanks for the help guys
  17. Thanks Peder...I have been looking for the pilot screws setting. Any idea?
  18. Hey guys here is one i can't figure out. After taking the carburetors out and throughly clean then and putting them back on, the bike takes several long cranks to start. Fully choked once it starts and warms up it will hold idle (although a little high) for just a few seconds a then died. Is almost like gas stops flowing into them. I disconnect the pump, which I tested and is working correctly, and connected an auxiliary tank straight into gas intake of the carbs with the same results. As long as I keep reving it stays on. But if I stop it dies after a few seconds. Any ideas?
  19. Hey guys, I finally had time to get to my problem. I flushed and change clutch fluid. It was very dirty. It definitely feels better. I think that was the problem. Thank you all for the help!!!
  20. Hey guys, I finally had time to get to my problem. I flushed and change clutch fluid. It was very dirty. It definitely feels better. I think that was the problem. Thank you all for the help!!!
  21. Ok I'm going to do that. Previous owner said it only had 500 mi from last service. Thank you!
  22. Hey everyone, I am new here and I am looking forward to participate and hopefully enhance this forum. I just acquired a 01 RSTD with 28000 miles in great shape. Everything works well, but I am wondering about rough, noisy hard shifting. Before the bike gets to running temperature it seems the shifting is smoother. As it warms up it feels harder, crankier and louder. I almost having to kick it down and when shifting up it actually hurts my foot (no heel-toe) Any advice or comments are welcome.
