Yes, I had put the bike on the center stand and weighted the back to hold the tire off the ground. I spun the tire with a reference point to check for the tread moving out of round. Checked for the bead not seated on the rim. It spins perfectly straight. Thanks.

I didn't feel anything odd when rotating the tire. The tire turns true. It has about 100 miles on it. Tire balance? Warped rotor? Hanging caliper? Wheel bearing?

I have read many of the tire balance threads on here. I have a symptom with my front tire that seems like hopping at lower speeds when taking off. The bead appears seated all the way around. Tire has held air fine. I noticed it last night after riding one up. Riding at 45-60mph, not much feedback. I static balanced the tire when I installed it. Didn't have this problem with the old worn out tire. Tire balance issue? I would have thought balance issues would start around 45. I run 40psi in tire. Thanks for your ideas.

What is the weight rating of that little trailer?

I had installed a new Michelin Commander II on the back of our Gen I. Last night was the maiden trip with the new tire. I expected it to perform good from the reviews. It handled awesomely. I felt great leaning in the turns and felt really in control of it. Of course the tire I was replacing was worn out, but I hadn't felt this much confidence in any bikes before with other tires. I have the Conti on the front Puc had mentioned being on sale. The two tires seem to get along together as well. Definitely glad I got both of these tires. YMMV.

I can second what Puc says: . We had a scare just before Christmas. While working on the road (we travel for work), we got two calls simultaneously, from two doctors at the hospital wanting our location so they could send an ambulance for her. They had found in a test that her left carotid artery had ruptured and a blood clot was saving her life at that moment. Needless to say, we have a whole different outlook on our life now since then. Everybody else should too. You just never know how long each of us has.

I, like Jeff, never get the wheels of my bike on the road without a helmet. I never thought about being seen when detached from the bike. Thanks for reminding us of that Mike. We are in the middle of shopping for outerwear now so we can take longer trips. The kids are gone and the wife wants to start planning overnighters working up towards longer trips.
