ok. So I got a new TCI from dingy & my bike runs like the bike I thought I was buying. I guess my question is under normal riding, could this increase my gas mileage. I guess since it runs better I probably will be twisting on the throttle more.

Got my new box from dingy. Fixed my issues. Bike runs great now -
I want to thank dingy for all the help with the tci module he sells. It fixed my bike's driveability issues. I thought if ran good before. It's amazing to me how well it runs when everything is right. Thanks for your help Gary.

Where does the battery cable ground at. Is it some where under the box?

It seems to have a dead cylinder. This weekend I plan on giving it a good tune. Wires plug caps plugs. Running Seafoam through it seems to help. Love the way this old 1988 rides & handles. Just want to get the performance back.

backfiring while riding down the road. wants to die with the airbox open.

Here is a new one possibly. My slides are bouncing. But it starting run really rough. Even backfired back through the carbs. So now where to look?

I talked to a Kawasaki salesman that said Yamaha had no idea what they were doing -
I have Michelin tires on my Kenworth & love them maybe give them a try.

At the risk of opening a can of worms that we don't want LOL I need to put a rear tire on my 1988. it does have a Metzeler on it now. has any body tried a Michelin or has everyone switched over to the dark side.

Already changed the fuel filter. pump seems to working fine will check the others this weekend. Thanks

I have always thought that. With the coils mounted on top of the engine could the heat be affecting them? just a thought.

On my 1988 at around 3000 rpm on up it has a sputter. It also doesn't seem to want to rev above 3500. up until then runs pretty good. also seems like it has a dead cylinder. haven't gotten into that yet. any suggestions where to start? also only getting 35 mpg I know these bikes will get better than that. Man I really enjoy riding this bike!!

Mine was doing the same thing. I changed the fuel filter (the original I think) that helped. I also found the positive battery cable loose. Not exactly sure what did it but is running a whole lot bettet
