Dakota Posted June 18, 2008 Share #1 Posted June 18, 2008 I just picked up a 1987 Venture Royale with a 2 person sidecar and want to change the sparkplugs, but can't seem to find a socket to fit the hole! I looked at it with a flashlight and the distance between the sprakplug and the wall is very thin. Is there a special way to get these out? Saddle_Bag Posted June 18, 2008 Share #4 Posted June 18, 2008 Did the scoot come with one of the original tool kits?? If so the yamaha spark plug wrench in the kit works. Deep 18mm swivel socket or socket w/universal... 3/8 drive.....10-12" extention and rachet..This setup is the easiest way to remove the spark plugs... greg_in_london Posted June 19, 2008 Share #9 Posted June 19, 2008 Yeah the spark plugs are a bugger to get out without a thin wall socket, but once you've got one (or ground one down) then they are quite easy to get out. Dakota Posted June 20, 2008 Author Share #10 Posted June 20, 2008 Thanks to all! I ended up with borrowing the tool kit from my V Star and using the spark socket.
