made2care Posted 8 hours ago #1 Posted 8 hours ago I still have my venture with its single carb and she still rides amazing! I did just trade an old bike for a 1986 Suzuki cavalcade 1400 and its engine looks very similar to my venture. have an issue I’m hoping someone could figure out. It has its original 4 carbs and the bike runs but…. It is popping back from the carbs at low idle with slight hesitation. some have suggested a lean condition. I put in a new fuel filter and have new plugs on the way. the bike did sit for a few years but the fuel tank was clean . at higher speeds the bike runs amazingly well but just have this low rpm missing/ hissing pop sound coming from the carbs , which is intermittent. thoughts??
N3FOL Posted 7 hours ago #2 Posted 7 hours ago Congrats on your 'new to you' bike. I really didn't know that Suzuki actually made touring bikes in the past. I think the more you ride the bike, the better it will run. As you have stated, plugs are on the way and that is a good start to start and hoping the bike will gradually improve over time. I am not so familiar on the Suzuki, but basic maintenance of the bike is where I would start.
