For you all up north I think over $1000 for bike insurance should be illegal. But your dealing with the government and, well we all know whether its Canada or the US we are gonna get the wrong end of that. For me about every 3 years I have to go bike insurance shopping. It seems they creep up first year then however much it went up the first year that number doubles. So I end up shopping every couple years.

I've noticed over the years that there is an introductory low price and they increase it at every opportunity. Geico was the worst for that on our autos. Now, I am with an agent that insures with several companies and he shopped around with those companies. In my area, if you have a loan on your home, the loan co. requires wind and hail ins. which is sold separately due to the number of hurricanes we get. The wind and hail costs close to $2K per year. I don't buy it because in 25 yrs, numerous hurricanes have hit Wilmington and I haven't suffer any damage. Finger crossed! I'm paying just over $400 annually for liability ins on two of my bikes and that is not minimum coverage. I have only liability on my car, truck, and two of my bikes because they are all old. My wife's Infiniti is worth more and I have full coverage on it. Knock on wood. She learned to drive at age 42 when she came to the USA and she hasn't had an accident in the 16 yrs she has been driving! Knock on Wood! Knock on Wood!
