Rear brake fluid replacement with mityvac

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I wanted to change the rear brake fluid and wanted to know if I should hook up the mityvac to the rear caliper, the front caliper or somewhere in between to do the best job of removing all of the old fluid while filling at the master cylinder. Hoping I don't destroy it trying to remove the plug. :fingers crossed:

I would think you would have to hook up to both the front caliper and the rear caliper to get all the old fluid out same as with an auto with 4 wheels.

I agree, and would probably start with the front since it's the furthest away from the rear reservoir.

...and, there is a bleeder for the high point of the line from the rear to the front located near the steering neck!

If there is no air in the system and you just want to refresh the fluid, do you need to bleed at the high point? I wouldn't think so.
