My Wagner Grill in Millennium Color!

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to share.. As some of you

know I like to go through radiators for

some reson... any ways. I just installed

a new radiator and one of Stave Wagner's

Grills. (in hopes of more protection)

Steve does awesome work!, I even

had it match my Millennium Color! I ordered

the paint from Color Rite..

Millennium Color (hard to match),

I have been really impressed on how they can match

our bike colors.. I myself really like how it

takes that black Void out of a light color

bike...take a looksy! (before/after)

(one happy camper) :thumbsup2:thanks Steve..

Just dont make any hard stops...that grill gets in the way of the front fender during a full on application of the front binders, and nearly caused me to have an accident.

Thanks Guys.. And yes I will try not to bind her up..

I can not Imagen that.. but if you say so.. there

is so much room there between the two.. and the grill

is only a inch thick.. so I guess If I bind that hard

I will be replacing a 2nd Radiator.. ummmm

Mine has a spot where the paint got chipped off from contact with the fender. Wish I'd known this was a problem before I ordered one.

I hit the front brake hard one day, approaching a light that was turning against us, and not wanting to leave my following riders behind, I applied the brakes. The contact between the rear of the fender and the grill caused me to lose steering control, so I had to back off, which then let the bike enter the intersection I was stopping for. Now luckily no vehicles were there, but still, my riding buddies that day were looking at me like, "why did you stop out there?"

So be careful.

Hi Brian

I wish if you have a problem with the Grill you would have let me know. I do have a couple of questions for you. First have you lowered you front end and do you carry any air in your front shocks ?

Since I have lowered the profile of the grill a few years ago I haven't had anyone write me with a touching problem. Also I did post not to use my grill if you lower the front of the bike as it takes away about an inch of clearance.

Sorry you have had a problem with my grill. email me when you get a chance.

Just measured,, I have a little over 3.5 inches of clearance..

and the grill is the same distance out then the 2 lower

side fairings. there is a huge amount of room.. if grill

is not on there , there is and extra inch.. of clearance.

So If I ever brake that hard , like I say , I will be replacing

the radiator again.. I see no problem with the distance.

But thanks for the heads up though..

another thing to consider. maybe it saved your radiator as well?

If braking that hard?

Jeff

Doubt it. That fork would have to compress a LOT more to get the fender up into the radiator...I'm guessing it would bottom out long before that happens. I dont run any air in the forks because you should not have to change suspension settings to use a cosmetic product on a bike. I like it the way it is. Nice compliant ride, and I normally dont have a passenger.

I like the way the grill looks, man its gorgeous, and sure enhances the front of the bike. And if you add air to the fork, you'll probably be safe.

Just be careful on those quick stops.

  • 5 years later...

We brought two of Steve's first gills in 99 for our two RSV. Thr radiator needs some protection from road ojects. Somehow crack the one on the MM. Order number two. the body shop has repair cracks in center and painted it twice.

i forget it is a cruiser , not a sport bike. But it's fun.
