Motorkote

Hi, new to this. Purchased a 2002 Venture with the, as I found out, the gear whine issue. It is ok until 100-110kms or about 65-70 mph, it whines loudly.

Have read some venture articles on Motorkote.

 

Has as any one used this and does it effect a wet clutch system.

It won't effect the clutch, used it my 85 for 4 years, no issues,,,, good stuff!!!

There is another fix for the whine here on the site somewhere, it involves installing an oiler line to the clutch are from what I remember. Other fix is to replace your clutch basket with a Rev "I" basket but that is not a guaranteed fix.

 

Turn up the radio or put loud pipes on, the whine is characteristic of the 2nd gen and there is no ill effects other than being irritating. We just accept the George Jetson sound...

So that 85 venture had no clutch slipping. Right?

Motorkote will not cause clutch slippage (based on personal experience on a '06 RSV and a '13 Victory CCT)

Hmm trying to remember what the motor kote stuff is. I have some stuff in a jug the label is long gone. But I thought it was motorkote. We had some @ race shop. The stuff I have is very graphite looking stuff. And if you get it on something its on there, like a stain. So I dont know maybe I have something else. I am running it in the wifes car rite now.

No issues on the 85, she just loved it.
