LED Tail light replacement question

Is this as simple as it looks? It looks like it just plugs into the light bulb socket, but should i have some kind of relay in the system?

 

Just asking before I do something stupid.

Yes they are plug and play. Mine has been in for over 5 years.

I paid $89.95 for mine 2 years ago from Custom Dynamics. May not be legal in all States or Provinces though. good idea to check first.

That is a good price, have seen the same or similar for $100.00 + shipping.

Put one on my 98 Royal Star in 99 and transfered it to my 07 Venture in 07 it was still on the Venture when I sold it in 2014, all tolled probably traveled 160,000 miles with it on and never had an issue.

Looks pretty much like the same one on my RSV that I guess was installed by the PO. Mine is super bright, plus I have the 15" LED light bar under the trunk that is perhaps even brighter when braking.

 

As for price, have no idea.
