Guest tx2sturgis Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I have really enjoyed Casey's American Top 40 broadcasts for what seems like a lifetime. I remember as a teenager in the 70's....every Sunday the local radio station would run the broadcast. I still listen to the replays on XM 70's channel. He will be missed. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2014/06/15/legendary-radio-broadcaster-casey-kasem-has-died-publicist-says/
Venturous Randy Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 No doubt that his show was a part of my growing up. Different world now. RandyA
Max Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Ya , listened to the dude since 70's all over the airwaves on weekends. One of those dj's I always thought of as quirky but he usually had the top 40 dialed in.
bongobobny Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I was surprised to find out in his early days he was a DJ on one of the local Buffalo radio stations, WBNY, but that was a station I never listened to. Yes, his voice and knowledge will forever be etched in my mind...
BradT Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 82 would have thought he was older than that as I too listened to him for what seems like forever. Travelled a lot by car so you were most likely going to listen to him. All the best to the family. Brad
videoarizona Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I enjoyed his show on AFRTS...American Forces Radio and TV Service. I was a radio jock and TV director for them way back when overseas... I remember his light informational banter.....the most. Made me a better DJ for sure... david
Brenda H Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 I've listened to him so much over the years that I can hear his voice in my head. Too damn bad the last few months of his life he ended up being a bone between two dogs, the wife and his kids. Hopefully he was not aware of it. Rest in peace Casey. One advantage to your doing classic R&R Top 40 is they can keep on playing the recordings forever!
