XV1100SE Posted September 22, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 22, 2013 Been hearing of more accidents involving bikes. With Fall setting in, be a little more careful out there. - ride with passing lights on and high beam during the day - when stopped or slowing down flash your brakes when vehicles are behind you - pay attention to the position of the sun early in the morning and in the evening. If you are between another vehicle (coming towards you or turning) and the sun they won't see you - as temperatures fall tire pressures fall too. Check your tire pressures - drive within limits of what you can see either during the day or at night. Animals are out and farmers are tracking mud (and other things) onto the roads with farm vehicles Just a friendly reminder to be careful riding. Carbon_One Posted September 22, 2013 Share #2 Posted September 22, 2013 All good reminders. Also one needs to be aware of wet leaves on the roads as they'll be slick too. Larry
playboy Posted September 22, 2013 Share #3 Posted September 22, 2013 Something I noticed another biker doing and I'm probably Guilty of it to is sitting at a light or stop sign with no brake lights on. I try to make a habit of keeping my fingers on the front brake weather I need them or not when stopped.

lonewolf96 Posted September 23, 2013 Share #5 Posted September 23, 2013 AND WATCH OUT FOR DEER! I managed to survive my 1st deer vs. motorcycle accident this morning. I managed to stay upright and moving with only a few dents and dings to teh bike. Remember as the weather changes and the rut begins the deer are moving more and at all times of the day and night.
