Brake Pad Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 I just got the bike back with my new Rivco Hitch, ( Honda Goldwing) I gave the tech's the sub wire harness, and Isolator & a 5 into 4 wire harness. Question: shouldn't there be 4 wires coming to the back of the bike? I have 5 Brown, Blue, Black, Green & Orange. Did they wiring this wrong? How do i fix this, I have a 4 flat Plug in the trailer
etcswjoe Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Sounds like they may have if you had a 5 to 4 converter you should have Yellow, Green, Brown and White. http://www.etrailer.com/faq-wiring.aspx
Snaggletooth Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Some thing don't sound right but I don't have an Isolator, only a 5 to 4 converter. 5 into the converter and only four coming out to 4 wire plug for the trailer hook up.
M61A1MECH Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Mike, I think the extra wire is for the back up lights, you will need those when you put the GW in reverse to back the trailer into a spot. You did get the back lights as an option on your trailer , right?

etcswjoe Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 without going nutz over this, Is there a 5 into 4 (trailer wiring) adaptor I can install? I just replaced mine, I bought a Hobson powered one form Auto Zone http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Hopkins-Trailer-Tail-Light-Converter/_/N-8ijmg?itemIdentifier=70605_534335_0_ It says it's waterproof but if you mount it under your draw bar like I did it will get water in it and fail, probally because something from the road put a hole in the side of it.
dacheedah Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 slip it under the trunk and zip tie her up, get some wire wrap that is close in color to your bike and take a path down to the hitch.
