What is this plug for

What is this plug?

 

on my 88 VR I found this plug under my seat that I'm not sure what it is for.

 

I don't have a passenger "box' for the intercom etc....we've found it has less static if I just plug my wife's headseat directly into the 5 pin cord.

 

Is this for the passenger intercom "box"? (Don't know what it's called)

It's plastic, has 6 wires attached, and is white,,,,, that's what it is,,,,,,,, I think???

Yes, it could be for the intercom/CB controller box! I'm thinking the yellow wire is the one you ground for transmit. Yellow is also brake so you could stick a voltmeter on it and see if 12 volts is there only when the brakes are on. I have one of those modules so later today I'll look at it and see if the colors match up...

I stuck a multi meter into the contacts and the only one with power was the red (orange?) with brown? bands.

 

I didn't try testing using different buttons etc

Yes, that makes sense, red is ignition, brown is accessory...

OK I went into the garage and that's what it's for, the radio controller, the wire colors match up...
