my venture sprung an oil leak from a cam cover gasket so she is parked till spring. but on the bright side while i have it open i am gonna check my valve clearances

Yep me too. Left rear Cylinder.......gonna wait till spring and get valves done same time as well.

That's what I figure the shop here will want as well....I'm the type of guy if anything can go wrong it will so I'm staying away from it. Only thing spring is 6 mths away for me!

Well... look at the bright side, winter gives you 6 months to save for the repairs.

I found a local independent m/c shop (co-op) that was happy to do mine a couple winters back in January at a cut rate on the shop rate. 1/2 price was better than nothing I guess he figured.

Just a thought to look into.
