HELP....My rear shock has gone out...

I thought these were all the same through the years 99-current

I am not sure which year they started but Yamaha did make a slight change to the rear shock that was supposed to help it resist getting dirt and road grime under the bellows, something to do with adding or relocating the vent tube as I recall, that may explain the difference in pricing.

The newer th rmodel you can find the better off you will be as far as getting the most up to date design, should fit the same just has the added or extended vent tube.

Yeah what Freebird said while I was typing :-)

If you call the steaLership back and ask them to put any year of rsv into the computer, you will get about 3 different numbers and prices, however if you ask the to check availability in the distribution center, they will all supercede to one number and 1 price.

Sure some dealers markup is higher than others.

And no the shock / shaft/ seal do not come apart, i sure wish it did
