Venturous Randy Posted May 9, 2012 Share #7 Posted May 9, 2012 Hillsboro, NC is a nice place, and will not be too long of a ride to the beach or to the mountains. If you have never been to the Outer banks of NC, you are in for a treat. Even though it has gotten more populated than when I was in that area when I was in the USAF, there are a lot of areas where there are a lot of great rides and The National Seashore. There is also a lot of history all over NC, whether it is in the mountains or the Inner/Outer banks. As far as mountains, NC has some of the greatest rides in the country, with the Blue Ridge Parkway and many great two lane roads. I live just across the mountains in TN, but if I am going for a day ride, or a weekend ride, it is hard not to head for NC. Also, we are looking at putting together the Asheville Rally in June.
