Richie R Posted May 2, 2012 Share #1 Posted May 2, 2012 I have a question about making your own maps to load into a sd card for my gps. Are there any websites you can go to to do this? I tried searching for it but found nothing. Thanks Richie R
etcswjoe Posted May 2, 2012 Share #2 Posted May 2, 2012 Harley Ride Planner works really well. http://rideplanner.harley-davidson.com/rideplanner/ridePlanner.jsp
Aimhigh Posted May 2, 2012 Share #3 Posted May 2, 2012 the Harley site is about the easiest to use. Mapquest can also be sent to the gps, but it isn't as flexible in modifying routes.
Bob Myers Posted May 2, 2012 Share #4 Posted May 2, 2012 Grouprider.com, maps can be made and saved on site, then download in proper format for gps at any time. Also, there are literally hundreds, if not thousands of other users storing maps and trips you can peruse and download at will. Plenty cheap too, FREE! djh3 Posted May 2, 2012 Share #5 Posted May 2, 2012 I like TYRE. Trace your route everywhere. Easy to understand, works with google maps, drag and drop to change a route. Basic version is free. Works with Garmin or Tom Tom. WAY WAY easier than the Garmin program thing they tell you to use. 2yr now and I still aint figured it out.

Bob Myers Posted May 2, 2012 Share #7 Posted May 2, 2012 Not sure you can see anything without signing on but, from the home page click the tab marked "roads". You can then browse other peoples roads or make a map of your own. Sample of one of my maps; http://grouprider.com/view_route.php?user=Bob_Myers&road_id=4776 You will have the option of viewing it, downloading as a GPX file, printing it or saving it as one of your own.
