Wanderer Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Has any one swapped out their OEM radio/cassette for a newer and up to date waterproof marine radio? I can imagine there would be no easy way to make it work with the headsets, but still, I think it would be very nice and the Jensen's are relatively inexpensive.
saddlebum Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 A close friend of mine has a marine radio mounted on his 1984 first gen instead of the OEM radio and it works just fine. The nice thing is the cd player is designed for a rough ride. Including a headset connection should not me a problem.
Squidley Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 The biggest issue with that, besides not having the use of the intercom, is also not having the CB. It would be great on a standard Venture as these didn't come with all the gadgets. The only other option that I could think of if you did it, was to also install one of the J&M handlebar mount CB/intercom units on the bike.
