goatman123 Posted November 28, 2011 Share #1 Posted November 28, 2011 I need to replace my air filter and am looking for advice. I find I can get a K&N filter for less than the OEM filter, or an Emgo replacement for less than that. Any bad experience from using K&N as far as flowing too much air for the stock set up? Any bad experience with the emgo? Thanks for any advice.

GolfVenture Posted November 29, 2011 Share #3 Posted November 29, 2011 I have a 91 VR (2nd Owner) with 7K miles and I'm concluding that it has the origional air filter. I would like to upgrade it to the K&N filter. Is there any carb modifications that is required?
Red Baron Posted November 29, 2011 Share #4 Posted November 29, 2011 I have been using an EMGO air filter for several years. It looks exactly like an OEM filter for about 1/4 the price. Never have had any issues with it. I think I bought it from the Dennis Kirk catalog.
