Mel Posted October 18, 2011 Share #3 Posted October 18, 2011 I would like to see how some of you have mounted your GPS's. Thanks. Your profile says you are riding a 750 BMW. Would it be helpful if I posted pics of the GPS mount on my Gold Wing?
rcbimmer Posted October 18, 2011 Author Share #4 Posted October 18, 2011 Thanks guys. This gave me an idea of where to go with mount ideas. I know my profile says I have a BMW K75S but I also hava a 99 Venture, new to me.
BARKEEP1956 Posted October 18, 2011 Share #5 Posted October 18, 2011 I got mine from www.ram-mount.com They have all different styles and cradles for most GPS and MP3 players.

Panjandrum Posted October 18, 2011 Share #7 Posted October 18, 2011 I used the RAM mount that sits on the clutch reservoir. It worked well for my Garmin Street Pilot (which got stolen) and now for my Nuvi 1450.
Carbon_One Posted October 18, 2011 Share #8 Posted October 18, 2011 I used a Kury "P" clamp and then made my own mount for the gps I use. Larry
Old Texan Posted October 18, 2011 Share #9 Posted October 18, 2011 I used the RAM mount that sits on the clutch reservoir. It worked well for my Garmin Street Pilot (which got stolen) and now for my Nuvi 1450. I use a Nuvi 1450 also, and have looked at the various Ram Mounts. Could you possibly supply us with the mount number your using on the reservoir? Thanks

Seaking Posted October 18, 2011 Share #12 Posted October 18, 2011 I have these on my brake and clutch resevoirs. http://www.motorcyclelarry.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_119&products_id=8&zenid=m98r2282r3nf8s1tjkfqs0ah30 oooh nice, I'll have to check this one out as the current Ram mount placement puts the Zumo450 in front of the left speaker, and blocks some of the indicator lights on the dash.. Thanks for the link.
dacheedah Posted October 19, 2011 Share #13 Posted October 19, 2011 I bought a cheap handlebar gps / phone holder at walmart , it was 21.00 and is water resistant. I would spend the extra 20.00 and get the waterproof one though. Mounts easy and works great.

Seaking Posted October 19, 2011 Share #15 Posted October 19, 2011 He's a great guy to deal with, very "shipping friendly" to Canadians. Ron Always good to hear! I checked their site and saw that they only have the 'two ball' mounts left, and after a quick check on the bike, wonder if it would be too tight a fit against the left mirror mount? I just have the singles, the double ones would be tight again the mirror, and not usable even if it fit on the resevoir. I'd drop him a line and see when he's manufacturing more. darthandy Posted October 19, 2011 Share #17 Posted October 19, 2011 I have been using the Givi S950 GPS mount since July. It works quite well and comes with a waterproof rain cover that just stretches over it. There is also the S850 which uses two velcro covered straps to hold it to the handle bar (or whatever else) instead of the arm type mount.

Ron Thanks, much appreciated.. worse case scenario is to get the double if he's no longer making singled and grind off the extra lug
