What a PITA!!!!!

I went to the Yamaha Dealer to get fork oil... the instruction in the progressive spring set recommended 10 or 15 wt and specificallly advised against 20wt oil.

All Yamaha had was 20 wt. nothing else!

I ended up going to a honda dealership where they had 5 or 10 wt...no 15.

So I bought the 10 wt Honda fork and shock oil....$9.00 for 1/2 litre!!!! (500 ml)

That would be $3420 for a 50 gal (us) barrel!!!!

:mo money:

If it makes you feel better, Brantford MC charged me $18.00 L for the last I bought about a year ago, that works out to pretty close to $9.00 a half liter. I think it's bloody expensive, but then I'm also buying gas at $1.25 liter when oil is under $90 barrel.

Carl I will bring you some the next time I am around. If Wayne is in my area tell him to give me a holar and I could give it to him.

Great idea,,, I have enough for another change, and then I'll need more, so I'll be a happy recipient.

Thanks

carl

Hi Steve. I will be in Kingston for the Bluesfest this month.Would love to meet you and see your bike.:cool10:

We seem to live pretty hetic lives so let me know a bit in advance

when you willl be in the area and I'll meet up with you!

If you have time I'll show you some very nice rides.

I"m riding the 84 for now while I get the 88 fixed up.

I used ATF, $1.99/qt.

Is that all it is....transmission fluid or hydrolic fluid?

I've got gallons of Hydrolic fluid for the log splitter!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, fork oil is nothing more than hydraulic oil.

When I resealed my forks, I searched several places and read that a lot of folks just use plain old ATF fluid in there forks and were very happy with the ride quality. I can't complain about it in my forks.
