New Rear Suspension on RSV 2000

I finally got my rear suspension shock installed at the dealer. I asked the mechanic how much air was in the shock and he told me none. Is this correct because I had read that the air should be ajusted for a single or passenger rider depending on the weight of the individual.

Thanks, lobo17

Although Yamaha does say that 0 lbs in the rear shock is OK, I would NEVER run that. There are lots of different ideas about what pressure is good, and most of it depends on the weight of the load. Without going into all that, I'd suggest 30 lbs air as a good average starting point. I have found sole riding requires a minimum of 20 lbs, and two-up 35. You will be happier with too much air over too little, but you just need to do some testing to see what is right for you.
