Hello all,

Following is a copy of an email I just got from my son. He had some tough times when he was younger, really got himself straightened out, now 37 years old. Active with the Salvation Army, has been managing a half-way-house while working full time. I'm asking for your prayers for him and Ally. This is tough for anyone to face. They need all the help they can get.

Thanks for reading.

Hi my brothers and sisters,

You may be family, a close friend, or an acquaintance, but I am emailing you today because I believe, you are a believer in Jesus. If you don't know, I am in love with my wonderful, beautiful, Jesus loving girlfriend...her name is Alisha, we call her Ally. Ally has Hepatitis C. Pride, shame, the enemy, whatever, would like us to keep this quiet, but that is not going to happen. Today Thursday March 24th at 3:30 we will be at a doctors appointment with a specialist to discuss treatment options.

In James Chapter 5:13-16 the Word says:

(13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.)

I'm sure I will get comments about the translation I used but whatever, look it up in your own bible. http://mail.yimg.com/a/i/mesg/tsmileys2/09.gif

Obviously we are praying but, here's the deal.

If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, you are made righteous. Your prayers are powerful and we need your help. Sometimes it's hard to create passion in another for something/someone they are not invested in, that being said, I covet your crazy, passionate, crying out, nonstop, pleading prayers to God in this. Please pray however you feel led, healing, wisdom in decision making, whatever the Lord puts on your heart. If He speaks to you about this please let us know.

My very close friend Tony just lost his brother Dan to this disease a few days ago, please pray for those left behind and hurting.

I have much more about this on my heart, but I am at a loss for words.

John 3:30

Love,

Patrick

My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. My sister inlaw was diagnosed with Hep C about 7 years ago and went into treatment in an Edmonton hospital about 5 years ago with a Chemotherapy type of treatment and has been HepC free from over 4 years now. They can do wonderful things now with diseases and I am sure with your faith and your great doctors Allie will be fine in due time. But there will be rough times in between, be there for her and support her through the tough times and all will be fine.
