gibvel Posted March 16, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 16, 2011 Does anyone have a stock black plastic Ignitions switch cover lying around they wouldn't mind getting rid of? Kind of tired of the scratched up chrome one that I've got. Search pinwall and they only had a tan one from a millennium and partshark wants $41 for a new one. Thanks
bongobobny Posted March 16, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 16, 2011 Well, I was planning on mounting my stock one on my trailer to make the whole thing look like one big gas tank, or experiment with to come up with pod mounted gauges, but if you can't find another, I guess you can have mine... gibvel Posted March 16, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted March 16, 2011 No, the whole thing is if you have one you're not using that's lying around, on a shelf somewhere, collecting dust.
bongobobny Posted March 16, 2011 Share #4 Posted March 16, 2011 Well, presently it is collecting dust in a drawer! If no one else chimes in the offer stands! Option 2, paint your chrome cover, which does indeed get scratched up, either to match the bike or semi gloss black...
gibvel Posted March 16, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted March 16, 2011 True, those are some other options!!
FreezyRider Posted March 16, 2011 Share #6 Posted March 16, 2011 Just keep watching Pinwall's listings. They often have had them in the past. I bought one from them, price was $4.95......plus about $13 shipping! Or, call Pinwall. They often have things that aren't yet listed. EDIT: Here is a black one from Pinwall. Pretty cheap too! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-XVZ1300-IGNITION-COVER-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem19bde17110QQitemZ110559850768QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_5490wt_939
Condor Posted March 16, 2011 Share #7 Posted March 16, 2011 Paint the chrome cover. Use Krylon Semi-Flat Black. It'll look just like the OEM but last a lot longer.....
