Yammer Dan Posted March 13, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 13, 2011 I've been putting off lubing "Uglys" tach. It has bad case of slows but I've got to get in there anyway and thought I would lube Tach While I was doing other things. What is best thing to lube it with?? Snaggletooth Posted March 13, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 13, 2011 I know that a bit of chain oil DON'T work when it's cold out. I cleaned it up and soaked a Q-tip with silicon spray and it seemed to be doing the trick into below zero temps. Will see how it holds up this summer. dingy Posted March 13, 2011 Share #5 Posted March 13, 2011 In addition to previous comments, you want a low weight oil. 10W or 5W Probably some fork oil setting around somewhere in the garage. Gary

RandyR Posted March 13, 2011 Share #8 Posted March 13, 2011 Gun oil is dangerous. Please explain. Gun oil is not the same a barrel fouling cleaner which disolves copper and loosens lead, and is hydroxide based (I believe).
