Need a backrest??

Thought this might be great deal for somebody. Trying to find a 86 - 93 one but when I'm going any distance I have my bag back there and don't really need it.

Thought these were a hard to find item for 2nd Gens? Or most of them come with them?

Not hard to find at all Dan. Utopia is a very popular back rest for our bikes. This one is in Quebec and that may be why there is no interest. Although it is a real good price.

Don't you have to cut into your stock seat to use these?

Nope, they go in between the driver and passenger seat. I had one on my 05 midnight. it is a nice back rest. My current bike has a cobra seat and the backrest is built right into it.

 

The utopia for the first gen has be go through the seat though. I sold one of those to Rocket awhile back.

That is a darn good price!!! I paid $220 for mine from Utopia in the spring. I love it though. Made a big differance in long rides. If I did not have mine already............I would buy it now.

Oooopps!! Almost a entire 2nd Gen on there right now. Good time to grab those parts that have fallen off while trying to catch the 1st Gens.....

Nice rest, but it's not removable. For long trips it's great, but for around town I'd prefer not to have one.... I have a Corbin on the '91 and theirs pops on and off. If I could find a Corbin one piece seat for the '99 at a decent price I'd pick one up and have the backrest pull double duty....??

What do you consider a "decent price". I have a nice Corbin complete with drivers backrest sitting in my garage. It belongs to Bob Dakin and he wants to sell it. Make an offer.

I don't know how old it is or how much he is asking for it. I'll find out. It's in excellent shape though. He brought it out on Maintenance day and it is still here.

Thanks Don... Gotta ask. Is that style backrest removable?? The one on the '91 is a post affair with a small flap to cover the hole once it's off...

Yes, same thing. It's a post and when you pull it out, there is a flap that covers the hole.

I don't know of anybody who makes a removable backrest for the RSV unless you change the seat also.
