Hazenson Posted May 14, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 14, 2010 If ya look at my picture, the left exhaust pipe is tan and the right one is darker. I havnt had a carb sync since 6/8/08. 09 the bike sat mostly and has 4000 miles on it since then. My mpg seems to be poor. My question is-- This something that a carb sync may fix or am I looking at a valve issue. The left side has always been a lil lighter since ive had the bike. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v405/Hazenson/2010/100_3717-1.jpg?t=1273875421
buddy Posted May 14, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 14, 2010 Doing a Carb. Synchronize would be one thing on my list by the looks of your tail pipe your running rich and for some weird reason Second Gen. have a problem with the #3 coil going out right side rear cylinder mine was bad and dint even know it until I got some bad gas and found it was dead these bikes run pretty good on 3 cylinders it could be several other things that could cause your problems too plugs - spark plug cap - carb. sync - carb. diaphragm -bad connection pigtail for pickup coils - etc
SC89Venture Posted May 14, 2010 Share #3 Posted May 14, 2010 I think I would be a little more worried about that rear tire, is it me or is it looking a little used? I'm just saying.......................

RedRider Posted May 15, 2010 Share #6 Posted May 15, 2010 Could be needing a sync, but the color in the pipes is generally from the mixture. Need to find someone with a ColorTune or a gas analyzer to really set the mixture properly. RR
gunboat Posted May 15, 2010 Share #7 Posted May 15, 2010 i agree with redrider, but also check the plugs when was the last time they were changed. also wouldn't wurt to run a can of bg 44k thru the gas tank. don c.

RedRider Posted May 15, 2010 Share #9 Posted May 15, 2010 Although, neither of these pipes look too bad. They are just slightly different and have a nice gray color. No black. RR
