Carbon Fiber Faring?

Sound like a good(but expensive idea). I want to take all the plastic off my 85, and take it so it can get molded and get a carbon fiber fairing for it.

That'd be cool, but its one of those dreams that will never come true.

...which makes me wonder; have any members tried something like this on a smaller scale?...What has been your experience? Pics?

The part in the video is the easy part. Actually making the part.

It is the making of the mold the requires the most talent and hard work.

I have made some parts for use on model aircraft, it is not a fun job, but some times it is the only way to get what you need/want.

I have another project that I am just working up the ambition to start where I will be making a custom fuel tank to fit into a jet. It will be made from kevlar cloth, the process is the same wether you use carbon, glass, kevlar, or any other cloth.
