I basically can't turn the handlebars, and get a grinding and almost ratcheting sound/feel when trying to turn. Is this the main steering head bearing? Squidley Posted September 5, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 5, 2007 If your getting a grinding sound when you turn, then there is more than likely a problem with the bearings. If that is what the problem turns out to be and your not real mechanically inclined then I would suggest that you let an experienced mechanic look into it.
