Planning a Charleston SC/Savannah trip

Sounds like a great trip. Here's the link for the tourism stuff in Savannah. You'll like it there, just if you ride your bikes don't go down to River St. That road is terrible on bikes, not so good on cars either. Here's the link to the visitors center

As for Charleston I understand they aren't very biker friendly. Can't park a bike in any of the public garages and such. I'm sure someone else will chime in on that. Plenty to see in Charleston as well. Two great choices for seeing plenty of historic stuff.

Hope you guys have a good time.

:bang head:I will chime in about Charleston. Love the city, hate the politicians. First, a few years ago. they run the bike rally out of town. The board of aldermen came right out and said they didn't want the city to be associated with biker community. Then two years ago a new city ordinance was voted in that banned motorcycles from all public parking lots and garages. This caught me personally, as i was visiting the city with a few freinds and was told to park on the street at the meters.ended up with an $8 parking ticket because my meter had expired. My feeling on Charleston, if they don't want my bike, then obviously they don't want my money. So be it. Sorry to sound negative, but I don't want you or any other rider go to Charleston and get caught off gaurd the way I did. I'm not saying don't go, more like be prepared.

I do hope you have an enjoyable time. After all, thats why we ride, to enjoy ourselves.

Just got back from Savannah about a month ago. I would suggest eating at the Pirates House. It's the oldest known standing building in GA. They have a person dressed up like a pirate that gives tours of the building. I would suggest taking the tour and listening to the history.
