Big Hack Posted February 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 22, 2009 I am needing to find the plug that goes into the hole to hide the bolt for the handle bar adjustment nut. Any suggestions? Thanks
friesman Posted February 22, 2009 Share #2 Posted February 22, 2009 you mean the black plastic plugs on the top on the handlebars where u adjust the ends up and down? if so, last time i checked the dealers could still get them as a special order, or go to flat out motorcycles and check their parts diagrams. http://www.flatoutmotorcycles.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=21646&category=Motorcycles&make=Yamaha&year=1993&fveh=551 Brian

bongobobny Posted February 22, 2009 Share #4 Posted February 22, 2009 If you think thats bad, you know those little mini hitchpinpins for holding the pin on thebrake pad? $3.00!!! The plastic cover for the pads? $19!! Bought a bag of 4 hairpins the same size from Lowes for 78 cents. Lucked out on an ebay purchase of misc.NOS parts for around $10 that had the plastic cover as well as a bunch of misc parts...

bongobobny Posted February 22, 2009 Share #8 Posted February 22, 2009 Next time I'm in Lowes I'll take one of them along with me and see if I can find a plastic cover that will work...
mraf Posted February 22, 2009 Share #9 Posted February 22, 2009 I replaced mine with stainless steel plugs I bought at a hardware store. I can't remember the size you need to buy but there is a size that just plugs into the hole. I believe they are used for plugging holes in stainless steel sinks.
