Carbon_One Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 While on another site I ran across this museum in Madison, Ga. http://www.microcarmuseum.com/info.html Kind of interesting thou I don't think we'll ever see much of anything like these vechicals in todays times. But if was fun looking at all of them. I do remember seeing a King Midget mini as a teenager. Larry
krome rose Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Very interesting and fun! I wonder if they could be put on the road today? Brandy

AZSpyder Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I have always been interested in the micro cars. Besides tracking down an original there are ones available as a kit car. I have particularly liked the Messerschmitt with the single wide seating and hinge over canopy. I did have a Porsche replica kit that was low enough to fit under a train crossing gate, there is one at work that would come down with no train coming. Others go around but I went under. I started worrying about getting taken out and ended up selling it. There is something about looking over at a truck next to you and being eye level with a 4 wheel drive locking hub! The little thing would just be a speed bump to some of the lifted trucks in town. Jerry
az1103 Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I enjoyed the virtual tour and was amazed by how many of these I have actually seen on the road. Thanks, brings back memories!
oldandcrotchety Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Curiously it's closed all summer and only open 3 days a week 3hours each day.
BEER30 Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 My very first "Owned" cage was a micro-car , Fiat S.E.A.T 600 http://www.microcarmuseum.com/tour/seat600.html . It was smaller than a VW Beatle . Cost my brother and I $45.00 each , when we bought 2 of them . My brother and I were 11 and 12 years old (I was the oldest) and the both of us could lift the micro's off the ground by ourselves . At the time , we got 60 mpg. BEER30
