Ventured Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Hi all... With my '01 on its way I am already researching my first add-on. I have always ridden with highway pegs and I assume the RSV will be no different for long trips. I see alot of references to the kuryakyn pegs but are there any specific model numbers or other brands that I should be looking at? Thanks for the help guys. Merry Christmas...
BEER30 Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 I just ordered me a set of Kuryakyn pegs from Cycle Giant . Should be here on the 29th . http://www.cyclegiant.com/pgroup_descrip/2753/1261/?return=%3ftpl%3Dindex%26category_id%3D2753%26%26%26page%3D8%26nothumbs%3D%26filter_1%3D%26filter_2%3D%26filter_3%3D%26filter_4%3D The ones I order are the Dually ISO-Pegs w/clamps for $89.95 . There pictures on a RSV . Mechanic has a set of the Pilot pegs on which they are thinner . Perhaps he can chime in to give you some input . Gene
Guest 2mike2 Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 have had mine for 3 years and love them mike
BuddyRich Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 Just depends on what you want I guess. I put the longhorns because the are real adjustable. Worked out good with the lower wind vents installed. http://www.kuryakyn.com/products.asp?bn=metric&ci=3260 http://www.kuryakyn.com/graphics/products/popup/7980-metric.jpg http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/accessories/acscitemdetail/5/4/83/408/all/1/4607/0/detail.aspx http://www.starmotorcycles.com/assets/accessories/250/STR-1D608-80-00-250.jpg

Works great. Kenny
Ventured Posted December 25, 2006 Author Posted December 25, 2006 Excellent. Thanks for the ideas. Looks like Kuryakyn seems to have the market cornered on this one. I really like the longhorns but they are bit more money. Is the extra worth it? My old Virago came with some old Hardly look alikes and once I got them into position I never changed them. Any others I should consider???
RedRider Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 Greg, Longhorns are a great way to go. They allow you to adjust them for closer/farther away, not just up and down. If you are tall, or short, it is really nice. They are worth the extra money. Jeff
BuddyRich Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 I like them. But I got mine off ebay for 105 I think. If they are worth the extra money? I guess that would be a personal thing. I just went that way so I did not wind up buying 2 or 3 pairs trying to find what I wanted. The wind vents swing out so its important to clear them. I attached a couple of pics. You can see the vents come down the side of the crash bars a few inches. When opened they pivot around them
Ventured Posted December 25, 2006 Author Posted December 25, 2006 Am I looking for the 1" or 1-1/4" diameter clamps? G

BEER30 Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 I just received and installed the Kuryakyn ISO-Dually pegs that I ordered about an hour ago . I haven't taken a ride yet to see how they feel , but will most likely do tomorrow or to the NC M & E . I would have ordered the longhorns , but want to see how my hips fair using highway pegs first in general . Here's a few pic's of them . Excuse the dirty scoot ! Gene
