I'm a new RSV owner and haven't been able to find answers to my questions, so I apologize if these are repeats. My first question is, how do I change the passing lamps to either come on with low beams instead of high, or stay on regardless of headlight setting? They are currently wired to come on only with high beams. Second question: the passing lamps appear to be misaligned, and I see no obvious way to adjust the alignment. Am I missing something? I'm brand new to this site and would love some input. I was in a hurry last night and was attempting to change my passing lamps from the standard bulbs to LED's. Well, I started disconnecting and connecting the new lights WITHOUT disconnecting the battery.....well long story short I shorted out my headlight fuse, replaced that fuse got the headlight working again.....but the passing lamps still won't work at all. I'm wondering if there is an inline fuse maybe hidden somewhere? I have a 2009 Venture S with the factory passing lamp setup. The LED's did work briefly before stopping....now the old lights won't work either so I've eliminated the lights being defective. I've checked all the main fuses and they appear to be working now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I saw on one of the bike groups a pointer to an installation guide of a headlight delay (pdf). The point is to use a relay to turn off the headlight while the starter is energized. "Doing this eliminates a 10A drain on the battery when it is needed the most." I've not noticed many issues with my RSTD, even with passing lamps on. Has anyone done this with our bikes? Is it a PITA? Dave

ROYAL STAR TOUR DELUXE PASSING LAMPS I want to put the passing lamps on my 2009 RSTD. I figure I need these two part numbers: STR-4NK35-10-01 Lamps STR-1D635-40-00 Mounts I can't figure out whether I re-use the flashers that are already on the bike when putting the passing lamps and mounts on the bike. Do the mounts or passing lamps come with new flashers that replace the stock ones? I assume I will not be re-using the old stock bar. Does a new bar come with these items? The pictures on Yamaha's site don't show what is included at all. Where does the new switch mount? Where does the wiring harness hook up to? The head light? Is there any way to hook them up so they stay on with the high beams on? I cannot understand why they should go off when the high beam is on. Any help / answers / pictures would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
