I'm getting ready to head to the airport for a trip to our corporate headquarters in Cannon Falls, MN. I will be in Minnesota today, Decorah, Iowa for 3 days then back at our main offices in Cannon Falls on Friday. Will return late Friday night. I will be checking in at night but will not be online as much or long as I usually am. Wish I had time to visit with The Owl and Juggler and others in the area but just won't be able to on this trip. Maybe next time. I'm giving you all the job of watching Mini Muffin while I'm away. I know it's a tough job and that is why I'm deputizing everybody.

Freeze The Balls Off a Brass Monkey: Is a nautical term which refers to the days of wooden ships and iron men. A Brass Monkey was a plate made of brass with indentations milled into it to hold and stack cannon balls for ready use. These plates were square or triangular and approximately 2-3 foot on each side. Brass being a better conductor of heat would expand in hot weather not causing much of a problem. However in the cold brass will shrink to a point where the cannon balls pushed against each other and at times causing the stack to collapse. This would result in unsure footing at best or a truly dangerous situation if the cannon balls had fuses.

I finally made it to Minnesota and have to say that I would be just fine going back home now. They don't know that winter is OVER. Got to the airport yesterday and found that my flight was not just delayed, but canceled. Ended up going back home and got a flight out at 6:30 this morning. Made it to our office in Cannon Falls around 10:30 this morning. Wish I had time to visit with Mr. Owl and Juggler and others in the area but my trips here are usually all business. If there are any members right near Cannon Falls I would be happy to meet for dinner or whatever one evening. Heading back home on Friday.
