My computer display is cutting out! Totally blank! After I had the pins re-soldered it has reset itself while riding a couple of times, but now I seem to have moved beyond that. It did come back on briefly after hitting a bump a couple of times but won't stay on which would seem to indicate a loose connection somewhere.

1. does the display have a separate power supply allowing everything to work without it showing?

2. should the bike run/start if the CPM quits/dies?

3. where would I start trying to figure this out?

Thanks in advance!

Get a can of this stuff, use on the Plugs behind the Inst Panel.

( Also, any other electrical plug you can see or get your hands on )

Also, get to the Main Ground Stud, located Under the Left Upper Fairing,

( about 3 inches, fwd, and 4 inches left of battery. and clean it )

Its not easy to get to.

I would think it almost surely would be where the wiring harness connects to the back of the panel. There isn't a lot of room there and often the wiring is under a strain. Check this area for good solder connections and that there is enough play in the harness to assure a good, stress free connection.

All connectors that are within reach were cleaned and dielectric grease applied. Ground was solid when I redid my battery cables, so i will check into the harness for the panel and see what shows. If I can't find anything and the problem persists, i'll holler back.

thanks for the feedback!
