  1. Couldn't have said it better. Loved our first time too - great to reconnect with friend made at Freebird's Maintenance Day, and great to make new friends too. We even beat the rain home last night (much better than the rain on the way to Galena!) Hope to catch up with everyone again!! Thanks to all the members of the Committee...your hard work was greatly appreciated!
  2. We hope to meet up with you! If for some reason we aren't there by your 9:45 time frame, go ahead and leave. (I have a relative who is notoriously late - I hate waiting, lol!) But our goal will to be there no later than 9:30!
  3. We booked the Red Roof Inn - anyone have any thoughts on this? It was rated well, cost was reasonable for the area. If anyone is from the area and has an opinion on this or another, let us know. (We can always switch!)
  4. We're planning on staying at the Red Roof Inn on Saturday night .(Any pros or cons?) I'm sure we would enjoy a meal that evening - we're pretty flexible. If you want to meet up in Joliet, we'll let you choose the restaurant
  5. Looks like we'll be in Joliet, IL for Saturday - Reservations made at Red Roof Inn for the evening. According to TripAdvisor, they're rated #4 out of 23, and @$76/night (AAA Discount), better than a lot of others in the area. Anyone wanting to meet up for dinner, let us know!
  6. Not too sure...heck, it's all of 9 days till we leave! You think we've planned that far in advance, lol? I'm hijacking hubby's account since he's at work and I'm "working" from home. He doesn't want to go thru the city itself and deal with the traffic. I80 in Ohio goes through our town (exit 173) Anyone wanting to meet up Saturday morning - we could head out together. I looked on mapquest, found I80 to I294 skirts Chicago. Could then stay near Addison Ill. That would be 6 hours for us on Saturday and only 3 Sunday morning. I'll try to get him to commit to a route tonight and post our plans. Would be great to find a hotel in same area with some others for Saturday night!
  7. We're thinking of stopping in the area of Joliet, Ill on Saturday (we would like to avoid going through Chicago if possible). That would leave us with about a 4 hour drive on Sunday...
  8. Well, I checked everything I could think of to check, as well as some I didn't. Still can't find the source of the rattle. I'll be doing some local riding before the International - hopefully I'll be able to solve the mystery before the 9 hour ride...
  9. Thanks guys! I'm going to go out and check or recheck all the suggested causes for the rattle - I'll keep you posted.
  10. Recently I changed the front tire on my 2nd Gen (2008 RSV). Since then, I've noticed a slightly "tin-y" rattle coming from the front of the bike. It seems to pop up when I drive over rough pavement or when accelerating hard, like after a turn. It lasts for a few seconds and then disappears. It's driving me crazy! I've done a cursory check, and everything appears to be tight. I can't figure out WHERE this rattle is coming from. Any suggestions?
  11. We'd like two - both XL. Let us know how you want us to pay! (and like several other folks, a color would work better for us). Great idea
  12. Years ago wife and I were eating a meal at York Steakhouse in a mall (don't think they are around anymore...wonder why? haha) Anyways, we always enjoyed the bbq chicken, baked potato and salads. But while eating my salad, I felt something crunchy in it. I then proceeded to pull out---broken glass! When we told the manager, she exclaimed "boy, we haven't had that happen for several weeks!" Seriously??? :-p
  13. Making Eagle is an honor - you have every right to be proud of your son! It shows commitment and dedication - character traits to follow him throughout his lifetime. I too am a proud father of an Eagle Scout. My son is dreading the day he "ages out" in October, but has earned 4 palms in addition to his Eagle status and hopes to earn more before then. Tell your son to keep on keeping on!
