  1. I was in chat for most of last night with no issues caused by the server.

I did get a warning message pop up once in bold red letters that said something to the effect of WARNING: Your current actions may get get you banned from chat. I figured that since I didn't do anything bad that I knew of I just ignored it and and everything seemed to continue working normally. I did note that a number of chatters were disappearing and having to get back in several times. Maybe it is OS or browser related.

Chat has always been pretty stable for me. (Although I can't say the same for all of the chatters, especially myself. :whistling: )

FWIW, I am running XP Pro and Firefox.

It would appear that the system knew you Jeff and was just getting a head start:rotf:

  2. Looking at adding new floor boards to my 07 RSM. Does anyone have any they what to sell? And are there any after markets that are made?Looking for drivers and passenger boards. The stock dull ones have to go!!!!

You can polish them out and they look nice

  3. The wife and I can put 2 weeks worth of clothes and toiletries on ours. I use the saddlebags for 2 sets of rain gear, 2 leather coats, a tool bag, 1 spray can detailler and a towel, small set of jumper cables, 2 pairs of flip flops 2 pairs of sneakers and 2 pairs of chaps. In the trunk we carry all our blue jeans, a few waters and some snacks. We then have a trunk bag that goes on the luggage rack that we carry tee shirts, socks, underwear and our toiletries in. We are leaving on 1/16 for Florida and will be riding around the state for 2 weeks and we will have everything we need on the bike for the trip. If needed we will stop and wash up a couple of things

  4. I find it humorous that so many are taking this so seriously. I actually heard a guy the other day say that he wasn't going to pay his mortgage payment until Saturday just in case. Come on....if the world did end your not going to need that money on Saturday anyway. :)[/

If the world ends it doesn't matter if it was paid before the 21st anyway since there won't be anyone at the banks to process :thumbsup2:the transaction.

  5. Well the Mayans got it right. How do I know this? I know this because "Sweet Home Alabama" came on the radio today and I turned it down. Shocking I know never in my life have I ever turned it down

Why on earth would you EVER turn Down Sweet Home Alabama, especially when they tell you to :

    "Turn it Up"

  6. Hi,

Odd question about air pressure gauges. I have been carrying a stick type for some time and all has been well. The other day I stopped at a tire shop to top off the tires before a long ride. The air hose had a built in gauge and was reading almost 8 lbs different than my stick gauge. Is there that much difference in air gauges? If so, can someone recommend a specific brand or type to be more accurate? I thought about a digital gauge, but I assume it can be just as off.

    Thanks

    Dave

I have 4 different gauges and everyone of them reads different by as much as 6 pounds. I go by the one that reads the 2nd highest pounds. Not sure if it is close or not but what is a guy to do. They range from cheap to $20 ones.

  7. Friday morning I'm having the 6th operation on my leg. It has made this year almost a total flop. If this one don't work I got a new chain saw.

I know. Back to my corner.

Dan good luck and I really hope this one works for you. As for the "new" chain saw. You don't need a new saw you need a new chain. just sayin.

  8. Hi all,

Having trouble tracking down STR-4NK27-14-01 Billet oil filler cap for my 2006 midnight venture. I can however get my hands on an STR-5BN27-14-01 billet oil filler cap for a vstar. It appears in the pictures I have of both they are identical, in fact the same picture. Are these two pieces interchangeable?

    Chris

The V-Star will not fit the venture.

  9. I dropped my bike in my driveway and blew out a disc in my back trying to pick it up. Been in bed for ten days now. I am 61 and live with a few disabities... 4 bad back disc , 5 right shoulder operation and 2 knee. I am heathy .. just broken. I have watched " who to pick up your bike " on YOUTUBE and now see I did everything wrong.

That is not my question.... somewhere on the forum I THINK I read if you trike a Venture there is now a "reverse kit" ???? If I can not get "reverse" I am going to have to sell and think about a Goldwing trike. I have no problem with getting a Goldwing but it would be cheaper if I could trike my Venture. I like my venture for it's stlying and dependability .

Any information would be nice thank you Cb

Sorry to hear about you bad luck. I wanted to let you know a very good friend of mine owns a shop and builds trikes. He has done them all and I wanted to let you know if you have any questions he would be more than happy to talk to you and answer them. He also sells trikes so maybe he might have something in your price range with reverse.

  10. The best thing I can say about this site is.............It has changed me and my wife's life. We have made so many friends that we couldn't imagine life without them. And what is really great if you need anything someone is there for you. :bighug::clap2:

  11. Well my most memorable one may not have been the most joyous but I will never forget it. It was 1972 and was my senior year in high school and I had just been named Christmas Dance King. We all sat at a table with 4 people and the tables were all decorated up very nice for Christmas. I sat back down with my date after being Introduced . We were beside a very tall and pretty Christmas tree. All the table had these Christmas candles burning and I noticed the table next to us candle had gone out. Being the gentleman that I am I decided to light it for them. I didn't smoke so I lit a piece of napkin and stood up to light their candle and as I approached the table one of the young ladies raised her arm to motion for someone. When she did she hit my arm and the lit napkin was knocked out of my hand. It fell down the back of her low cut dress and being the gentleman I was without thinking I reached down her dress to try and put the napkin out. Well needless to say this startled her and she tried to stand up. The chain reaction that followed was.....well very memorable. When she stood up with my hand down the back of her dress it caused me to fall backwards into this 10 foot Christmas tree knocking it over and sent me to the floor. As I fell the Christmas tree caught fire from the candles on the 3 or 4 table it fell on. And if this wasn't enough the bottle of Southern Comfort I had in my suite coat pocket came flying out only to break all over the floor. This is a Christmas I will NEVER forgot

  12. Have to do a little upholstering to the seat of the MM Venture I just bought from the insurance company here in Iceland.

Can anybody by looking at the pictures tell me if this is a Mustang seat, Corbin, Saddleman and so forth. Need to order some upholstery material from the maker of the seat.

A good shop can fix that and you will never see it. I had a bug tear in the sun deck on my boat fixed and I could never find it after that and it only cost me $65

  13. Want to go to Utah, but Yellowstone keeps drawing me too. Lots of country to cover. :confused24:[

Southern Utah is a MUST. Hogs back road (US 12) to Escalante is amazing as is Red Canyons, Brice and Zion. Black Canyons of the Gunnisons in Colorado is great also. If you are doing very many national parks get a US park pass it will save you some money. If you are under 65 they are $80 if over 65 they are $10, If you are a DAV they are free. They are good for a year and even most State parks accept them as well. Also Mt Evans is a must in Colorado Highest paved road in USA another cool ride is the moki dugway
