  1. the # under the gas cap and also close to all the other locks on the saddle bags and trunk are from my experience, just part #'s. I actually lost my one bike key, went thru the hassle of trying to find codes also. I bought the bike used and only one key came with it and the original key code tag that comes with the keys from the factory wasnt included. Ended up having to chisel off the nuts holding the security bolts from the ignition on the under side of the frame. Once off, took the ignition switch and the lock from inside the trunk to a locksmith and he made me 3 keys. cost of about $55 for the hassle. lesson learned? get extra keys made before you need them!
  2. would love to have the key code for this bike, but.............. the lowdown on it is that it was a bank repo, auctioned on ebay, bought by me, and no owners manual ,tool kit, or anything else that would come with a bike, came with this one. and due to my procrastination, didnt get a second key made before i lost the "only " key. and after spending two days looking high and low, the quicker alternative is to just get a new key made by way of removing the switch, taking to a locksmith and starting over, lesson learned. I hope! as recommended, i will call the local dealer to check on that warranty issue. thanks for thinking of that.
  3. anyone with advice on how to remove the main switch on a 08 venture for replacement key to be made? i dont see any quick and painless diagram in the manual that relates directly with this.
