  1. What was it? Bent wheel or bent fork.... just curious if it has been resolved yet.
  2. Don, I still hold that this is the greatest site on the internet. It's why I keep coming back. Fully understand your decision and like most here, praying for a complete recovery for you!
  3. Getting closer, class is still not right but will run now
  4. Hunting my soldering iron will be the first order of business when I get back from Minnesota. Gonna ride up there Friday for about a week.
  5. Finally making some progress on the '88. She has had lots of plastic repair with Plastex, great product. She has been painted with the finest Duplicolor paint and clearcoat that Autozone had available, It has been painted with a really good $29.00 Harbour Freight HPLV paint gun. Three coats each. I do have a few electrical problems that are holding me up. The Pass System powers up, but that is all. (error code E2) I found this, ( ) and will begin working on it soon. The wind picked up once I started painting, go figure, got a little trash in the paint but I think it came out alright. The pictures have a lot of dust but that came after it cured and will come right off.
  6. Picts of the '88 as she sits. Sad. just sad. But maybe not for long.
  7. No sir, I try to remember to add it this evening. Sold the V-Star today though.
  8. I remember when I posted here nearly every day, and my fondest memory of meeting some of the members in St. Paul MN. which was at that time, my longest bike ride. That was on an '83 VR that I had fixed the second gear issue myself with help garnered from you folks. Today I have an '88 VR that I have had torn down for paint and other repairs, for about 3 years..... I'll get around to it. I also have a 2002 V-Star 1100 that I rarely ride because I can't get comfortable on, it's too small. Think I'll get busy on the '88 again, pretty sure the carbs need a good cleaning by now. Maybe I'll sell the V-Star. (this is not an add, just a comment.) Anyway, this still seems like about the best internet site around!
  9. Guess I need to get these spectacles checked.
  10. So, I have let mine lapse again. I have looked all over and can't seem to find a link to pay. Any help with this?? Thanks, and as a member from before the crash, this is still the best site I know of.
  11. I see a few familiar names, yours being one of them. I knew that there would be new names and faces, what I didn't expect was To see that the annual fee would be the same as last time Inwas here. I wonder if there is a Yamaha dealelrship in Heaven?
  12. Thanks for the comments guys. I always loved the fellowship that was here in the past. It looks like some of that is still here.
  13. Oh, It is good to be home. haven't been on in a long time, but I was here before the crash. Still have my 83 and my 88 but the 83 is probably going to stay dead. the 88 has been getting a new paint job and plastic repair for a couple of years now. I am currently on a 2002 Vstar Classic 1100... It'll do for now. I don't think I've been on here for like six years or so. Nice to be home!
  14. I think that is what i was looking for utadenture,....Thanks frankd and Rick for your input.
  15. I have seen in the past on this site, someones instructions to remove the tape deck and add a jack for an MP3 player. I haven't found it, any help would be appreciated......Thanks!
  16. Yep, happier than a pig in mud! ;-
  17. Check the cord at the stove connection, one side may have burned off. reset the breaker, one side may have tripped off.

    Why?

    Ex-why-zee.......(just a random thought)
  19. Put the breather back on...they do not like to run without it.
  20. What Randy said.......and my 83 is in an 86 frame now and i have an 88..........the 83 is more fun than the 88, it sounds better and "I" think it has more torque. still running the undercut second gear....basically, I love these bikes!
  21. the battery is installed. it is AGM technology. it is a Super Start Platinum and it is heavy. Heco En E.U.A. (made in U.S.A.) seems to have plenty of current available, but the CCA rating isn't listed on the box. Now, to see how it holds up!
