  1. Jeff go lay down by your bowl because I am #901 !!!!!! :yikes:

    ya!!!!!

Oh ya, WHY did I do this anyway?

Because I can that's why...... wait a minute. I think I just found out why.:missingtooth:

"Because I can do it" is the how answer as in "How can you answer this?" "Because I can!" Which still leave to beg "Why can't you answer the WHY question?"

  2. My home state Alaska was created by a young Alaskan named Benny Benson. The design of a flag was a state wide contest and his design of the Big Dipper on a dark blue background was the winner. The Alaska state flag song is also the state song. When I was a kid we would say the Pledge of Allegiance and sing the Alaska State Flag song every morning before starting classes.

  3. As with any "drug" it should be solely between you and your doctor. All drugs can have positive and negative affects. It should be between you and your doctor to determine where the benefits outweigh the negatives for you. That being said there will always be those that go outside the law to get a hold of medicines that their doctor will not prescribe for them. A price that has always been paid for access to the beneficial drugs by all. The government does not need to be involved in who should or should not be able to get a drug. At best it should only be able to control who can best make that decision and that brings me back to the thought that it should be between you and your doctor.

  5. Looking for ideas, thoughts and suggestions. My emergency flashers are only working on one side, the left side. When I turn on just the emergency flashers only the left side blink. If I turn on the left or right turn indicator they work normal but when I turn on emergency flasher while turns are on only the left flashes.

Emergency only on - left side only flashed

Right turn only on - ride side flashes

Left turn only on - left side flashes

Right turn on and Emergency on - left side only flashes

Left turn on and Emergency on - left side only flashes

So far I have replaced the Emergency Flasher relay with no changes.

    Ideas, thoughts or suggestions?

  6. I found the following on the XJbikes forum I belong to and thought I would post it here! I changed the first line to go with our forum. The person who posted it on the XJ forum found it on another forum and edit like wise. :whistling:

How many Venture Rider members does it take to change a light bulb?

Five to flame the spell checkers.

    Three to correct spelling/grammar flames.

Six to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another six to condemn those six as stupid.

Fifteen to claim experience in the lighting industry and give the correct spelling.

Nineteen to post that this group is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb (or light bulb) forum.

Eleven to defend the posting to the group saying that we all use light bulbs and there fore the posts are relevant to this group.

Thirty six to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty

    Whoops! http://xjbikes.com/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I sure members of this forum can relate to this !!!!

You left out the seven posts that question why we even have to have headlights and why should the government even be involved in telling us what we can and can not do "for our own good".

  7. Gotta give a huge Thanks to Bob Myers

Had a crash in October in Somerset KY about 375 miles from home. Bob immediately sent message offering to come scoop us and the bike up and help get us home.

I had already made arrangements to get us home by the time I seen his message but had no idea what I was going to do with the bike. Bob said no problem that he would store it for me as long as I needed and even offered to make the 2 hour round trip to go get it for me. The insurance company still owed me a tow on it so I got them to agree to let it be taken to Bob's place. At that point Bob coordinated with the towing company to get it to him. The towing company changed the date several times and was several hours late getting there on the day they towed it but Bob was just patient and polite with them and got my bike to his place. I can not tell you what it meant to have the load of having the care of the bike taken off my shoulders. It allowed me to totally focus on making sure my wife and I were properly taken care of medically with out that distraction.

I was able to finally go get the bike this past week. When we got there Bob immediately took over. He told me that my ribs were probably still hurting some (which they were) and that he would take care of getting the bike loaded and tied down on the trailer I was to just stay out of the way. I of course objected (because it didn't hurt to awfully much) but he would not have anything to do with it and went ahead and took care of it. When he was done let me tell you that thing was as secure as any bike has ever been. I didn't have to make a single adjustment on the way home. Talk about peace of mind.

Afterwards Bob and his delightful wife Tina and myself and my Sweetie Sue went out for dinner. We had a wonderful time visiting, and of course eating, and had a lot of laughs.

It is people like Bob and Tina that make this site the wonderful family that it is. When perfect strangers step up to the plate the way Bob did, to help out someone they have never met it can not help but touch your heart. The burden that he lifted from me in my time of need, and the new friendship we have acquired because of this site, are blessing beyond description.

THANKS BOB AND TINA MYERS

  8. I have been reading and studying up a lot on this virus for several of my clients. What this does is encrypt your data files with an in breakable encryption. Removing the virus is actually quite easy but your files are still encrypted. If you do not have a reliable backup fie The ONLY way to get them decrypted is to pay the ransom. Fortunately the hacker has been honest about actually decrypting the files. If you must pay the ransom there are a few things you should NOT do. Do Not delete or move the files or the decryption will not be able to find them and fix them. Do Not remove the virus before paying the ransom, you will not be able to access the ransom instructions if you do.

Once you have paid the ransom and recovered the files immediately cleanse the computer. So far no one has found any additional insertion of a virus during the decryption and use of the decrypted files appear to be ok bit only you can decide that.

This virus goes after EVERY drive attached to the computer so if you are using an external drive for your backup and it was attached at the time of infection the files on that drive have been hit as well. If you are using a cloud backup and you have not run a backup to it since the infection you should be okay to recover with the cloud backup. Regardless before recovering from your cloud backup you should contact the provider and get specific instructions from them.

If you are sharing files on a network drive those files will also be hit however this virus is not jumping from computer to computer yet so anyone attached to the network drive will not be infected by accessing the encrypted files, however the files will not be usable by them either.

Bottom line is do NOT open ANY attachment from an unknown source. If unsure contact the party that sent the file and confirm that they really sent it. If unable to verify DO NOT open it.

Back up your data. Make sure it is NOT a drive that is always attached to your computer. I personally use an external drive and a cloud service. Before I backup to the external drive I always run a full scan of my computer. Only then do I attach the external drive to the computer and do my backup. The cloud back up is run daily and is automatically set up. I set my virus program to run every other day before the scheduled cloud backup time. I back up to the external drive once a week. OCD? Well yeah, but then again my data is my livelihood. Even if it isn't your income source you have to ask yourself what do YOU have on your computer?
