1. Update

Final summary me with "multiple" broken ribs, wife with small bone fracture at end of a tendon that actually pulled a small piece of the bone off, friends wife with cracked tailbone and no injury for my friend. Bike is running and could have ridden it home except for these dog gone ribs. Left bag is trashed all else ok. And Margret what do you mean "going to be in trouble"? Why you know I am a "perfect angel" ;-b

  2. Went down in Somerset KY in two motorcycle/trike low speed accident. No really serious injuries. Banged up ribs on my part. Wife has banged up knee. Don't know if either of us have broken bones as still waiting for X-ray. Status of bike unknown as we are still in hospital.

Damn glad I'm an AGATT rider.

Lesson learned to always always always confirm that your riding partner sees your signal before you make a turn. Was so focused on where I was turning around that I didn't confirm my partner saw my signal and got T-boned by him. He is fine and his wife is banged up but also no "serious" injuries either. Will update more later.

  3. When I went to my 1st Maintenance Day Mark was suppose to go but couldn't at the last minute. Annie had made name tags that year and there was one for Mark. I grabbed it to bring back to him but of course forgot to do so. Ever since then it has been in my saddle bag. I never took it out and never will. If I am in the bike he is always riding with me. Couldn't of to many others I would enjoy having ride with me every time.

  4. No matter if its a dog or a cat or a bird or a horse, any animal that joins your home joins your heart. I am sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved pet and hope that your heart bears the pain with the great memories of your time with him.

  5. I would help Dan but I need more specifics.

Should I use my right foot or my left foot?

Should I use a high punt type kick or a drive it into the end of the end zone kickoff type kick?

Is there a particular body part I should aim for or can I just randomly pick one?

Should I just post pics on this site or should I post a video on UTube?

Just want to help you here my friend and do whatever you so wish. :-)

  6. This how I mounted mine. Just removed the lower bolt on the deflector and used that hole so no drilling required. Used a small piece of tubing and flanged it on both ends so I can aim them in any and every direction. Have mine aimed more towards the ditch so it gives me much wider spread. Have had them on there for about 6 yrs now with no problem.

  7. For some reason I was taking off from a light to get up to freeway speed and my bike stopped accelerating and a grinding noise proceeded to emanate from the rear end. Got it home and found this. Couldn't be from the um "aggressive" shifting could it? :-)

  9. Has this been confirmed with Don? Is this a go?

Not confirmed just saying I'll do it and my thoughts. Already found a place in Eddyville KY that can accommodate us with cabins, RV spots and camping spots. They have had other MC meets there as well as other groups. Like I said I will work it if others are ok with it.

  10. I will tackle setting up the one for 2014. I am thinking Western Kentucky. Somewhere in the Evansville, Paducah, Bowling Green triangle. Would shoot for 2 week in August. That might give our western members a better chance of making it and the weather in that region is at its best at that time Average high of 90 and average low of 66. This would put it at a 500 to 800 mile ride to get there for most of our members.Lots of lakes and rivers in the area and close to Nashville for a day run.

  11. I have been caught out in the desert where there was suppose to be a gas station at 150 miles I had planned to fuel at. when I got there it was unexpectedly closed due to a power failure and it was about 60 miles back to the last station so I had to keep going. When I finally did find a station I had gone 208 miles and put in 5.7 gallons. If I had not punched the holes to get that extra .4 gallons in at the start of the trip I would have been stranded out in the desert. Oh did I mention I was two up? Would of had to make some hard decisions. That extra .4 gallon capability is well worth the peace of mind.

As for the actual punching of the holes, yes it is soft metal and probably nothing will happen. Noticed I said "probably". The problem is that if something does go wrong it will be a BIG something. Also, as I have said before, you would have to change your name to Richard Pryor. Only takes a moment to get the right tool for the job, that would be a brass punch and a rubber mallet, and use it.

  12. I just went to the Scala myself. I cut the earphone wires and spread the clamp that holds the wired mic to the helmet wider so it clamps on over the hard wire going to the Scala mic. When I need the CB ie group ride etc I hook the mic for the CB up and run with two mikes. I run my Scala as per normal and the CB through the bike speakers. Don't ride a lot with this set up but when I do it works fine for me.
